Study On Outpatient Essential Pharmaceutical Care And Cost Estimation

ObjectThe objects of this study are:â‘ through study of domestic and international pharmaceutical care provision and principle, define the outpatient essential pharmaceutical care of our county.â‘¡to provide principle and standard of outpatient pharmaceutical care.â‘¢studying the method of estimate the cost of outpatient pharmaceutical care, to provide a basis for dispensing fee.Data and MethodsLiterature review, DELPHI, field investigation and statistical method were used in this study. The data included: literature data on domestic and international pharmaceutical care provision and study; literature data on the method of estimate the cost of pharmaceutical care; data on pharmaceutical care cost of Gongming Hospital.ContentDefining outpatient essential pharmaceutical care item; develop outpatient pharmaceutical care model; cost study on outpatient essential pharmaceutical care.Results and Conclusions(1)Defining outpatient essential pharmaceutical care and advanced pharmaceutical care of our county, of which essential pharmaceutical care consists of prescription evaluation, distribute medicine, patient education; advanced pharmaceutical care consists of patient consulting window, health and rational use of drug promoting for community, prescribe review, medicine use education for hospital staff, provide information of medicine use for purchasing plan. (2) Determine the standard time of outpatient essential pharmaceutical care, of which prescribe evaluation shouldn't less than 1.75min, distribute medicine shouldn't less than1.85min, and patient education shouldn't less than 1.45min.(3) Develop a model of outpatient pharmaceutical care of our country.(4) Find out the influential factor of providing of outpatient pharmaceutical care.(5) Determine the methods of outpatient pharmaceutical care cost estimation, and use the method estimated outpatient pharmaceutical care cost of Gongming Hospital.Suggestions(1) Emphasis on training of pharmaceutical professional personnel, and provide further education to pharmacist.(2) Improve primary health system, guide patient to visit community health service institution.(3) Draft a pharmaceutical principle and standard.(4) Establish a Reimbursement system for pharmaceutical care.(5)The method of this study can be used for a wide-rage cost study of China.Innovation(1) First study on defining outpatient essential pharmaceutical care in China.(2) First study on estimating cost of outpatient essential pharmaceutical care in China.(3) The study was only conducted in one hospital, and result of the estimation can not be used when set price of pharmaceutical care.
