Purpose: The study is focus on the clinical inhibition effect of Pituitary tumors self-prescription. Methods: Used a random method in clinical experiments. Divided the patients (33 cases) into three groups, 10 cases (using traditional Chinese medicine only) were given the Pituitary tumors self-prescription for internal use only. 13 cases (combining traditional Chinese medicine with western medicine) were given the Pituitary tumors self-prescription and oral bromocriptine for internal use at the same time. 10 cases (using western medicine only) were given the oral bromocriptine only. The living status, blood indexes and MRI data were summarized in order to observe the change before and after the period of treatments. Results: In clinical study, the significant difference(P<0.05)among the three groups in the improvement of clinical symptoms, changes in prolactin levels(P<0.05), recurrence of hyperprolactinemia(P<0.05), changes in size of tumor on MRI, clinical adverse reactions and other indexes before and after treatment. Conclusion: Pituitary tumors self-prescription can inhibit the growth of prolactinoma, lower the serum prolactin level of hyperprolactinemia patients significantly; Compared with Western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine has its unique advantages in treatment of prolactinoma; We should combine traditional Chinese medicine with western medicine in clinical practice for its obvious advantages.
