Objective: Since this experiment is intended to understand the relation of YKL-40 and Chemerin to type 2 diabetes and their expression characteristics, the essay is a tentative discussion of the possible role of these cell factors in the process of pathologic and physiologic change of type II diabetes.Method: Research was undertaken on subjects from The Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University Medical College, of which 41 patients of type II diabetes were studied as case group and 40 healthy persons identified as the controlled group. Enzyme-linked immune absorption was used to test their expressive levels of YKL-40 and Chemerin in the patients of type 2 diabetes and the controlled group of healthy persons respectively. Results: 1. Blood serum levels of YKL-40 and Chemerin in the case group of type 2 diabetes are apparently higher than those of the controlled group of normal persons.2. There exists a correlation of blood serum YKL-40 with age, waistline, Cr, FPG, urine protein excretion rate, urine nuclei, total cholesterol (TCH),TG, HbA1C, HGB; and there is a remarked correlation of blood serum Chemerin with waistline, BMI, FPG, total cholesterol (TCH), TG, HbA1C, HGB. (Both have P<0.01 and P<0.05).3. The stepwise regression analysis indicates that in the T2DM group, age growth and increase in urine excretion rate are major factors affecting YKL-40, whereas BMI growth is a major factor influencing Chemerin. Conclusions: In terms of expressive volume, Blood serums such as YKL-40 and Chemerin in type 2 diabetes patients are obviously higher than those the controlled group of normal persons. The analysis of age and urine protein excretion rate shows that the higher level of YKL-40 might be correlated with vascular syndrome of type 2 diabetes, while the higher level of Chemerin mainly discloses the fat-related metablism disorder in type 2 diabetes patients.
