Phthalate esters (PAEs) ,including DBP,BBP,DEHP and so on , had been defineded by WWF as environmental hormone pollutants. As a plasticizer to make plastics more flexible, PAEs is widely used in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) for vinyl tiles, food conveyor belts, carpet tiles, artificial leather and adhesives, besides PAEs is used in the product of cosmetic, detergent, insecticide and so on. PAEs was not covalently linked to the plastic polymer during manufactural processing, which can be leached to the environment media( air, water, soil and bio-system ) during the manufacturing process and product use and after disposal. PAEs hazards human health. In past several decades, most of the research on PAEs to health effect has focused on reproductive development aspect, but study about PAEs to neurobehavioral development aspect is very few, especially research on PAEs to growth and development of fetus , WWFse mother exposed PAEs in general environment level, is less. Nowadays, the general environment level of PAEs to human has great effects on male reproductive health, but we are more and more concerned about that pregnant women exposed to PAEs in a low level may affect neurobehavioral development of fetus, therefore we lucubrate in this respect. As global organic pollutants, human has exposed this kind of pollutants constantly. Female, who is in reproductive period, especially in pregnant-circumnatal period, should be close attention. In the past several years, investigation demonstration there was relation between decrease of quantity of spermatozoa and decrease of fertility and pollution of PAEs. Desides epidemiological investigation found that incidence of hypospadias and enorchismus of American male increase twice from 1970 to 1993. Many questions, such as carcinoma of testis and decrease of quality of spermatozo, are increasing. Research found that there was conspicuous associativity between those abnormality and PAEs pollution.Recently, human are more and more concerned about the potential toxicity of PAEs.Vitro embryo culture study suggested that PAEs may permeate the vitellicles of rats and attack embryonic cells. The development of vitellicles and the differentiation of blood vessels were obviously inhibited. The embryon was short of nutrient substances. Oxygen lack and metabolic disorder inhibited the development of embryon. Nervous system is especially sensitive to those changes. Therefore, it's necessary to investigate the potential neural toxicity of PAEs.By researching on PAEs in vivo and in vitro, we have found that there was embryonic developmental toxicity, if rat exposed BBP and DBP in pregnant period , and BBP exhibited some effects on the neurobehavioral development of male rats in the F1 generation。Male F1 generation in the low-dose group in cliff avoidance test, open field test, Morris water maze test, surface righting test and so on has significance to male F1 generation in control group. The expetiment is to establish a method of detecting the concentrations of PAEs in serum by using high performance liquid chromatogram(HPLC). One aim of the expetiment is to detect the contents of PAEs in pregnancy serum, and then we analyze the correlation between the contents and fetus-body weight, fetus-stem length, and comprehend that contents of BBP and DBP in pregnancy serum whether or not to influence growth and development of fetus.
