Diarrhea is the leading cause of death of children in developing countries. About 1.4million to 2.5million children died because of diarrhea every year. Diarrhea not only directly caused health damage, but also leaded to human nutrition disorders, slowed growth, mental development and other issues. Although the case of death caused by diarrhea was not common, but this disease remin caused the major morbidity, and consumed a large amount of medical eapenses. We screened the probiotics which inhibit the pathogenic bacterias causing diarrhea. The probiotics had a important role in making diarrhea fast recovery, and also protect intestinal flora from the drug. Prevention and treatment of diarrhea with probiotics also can reduce health care costs, and reduce the medical burden. We isolated 39 strains by RB, CAN and LAM probiotic culture medium, including 15 strains of Bifidobacterium,14 trains of lactic acid bacteria and 10 strains of Lactobac -terillus. And then we use the Escherichia coli (E.coli) as the indicator strains screened these 39 selected probiotic. We found that lactic acid bacterias have no inhibition to Escherichia coli, and most of the Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus have the inhibitory effects. The remaining strains of probiotics with antibacterial activity lossed the antimicrobial activity when the supernatant of probiotics become neuter. The remaining probiotics were only three strains:1321,0533 and 1333. The three strains probiotics can not only produce the variety of acids, but also produce antimicrobial peptides inhibiting the growth of pathogenic bacteria.Selected probiotics should not only inhibit the pathogens, but also must survival in the acid and bile and adhere to intestinal. Probiotics that can withstand the body's complex environment of stomach and intestinal smooth can adhere to human intestinal epithelial cells. Finally probiotics inhibit the adhesion of the pathogens. We proved that probiotics inhibited the diarrhea by inhibiting the adhesion of pathogens.
