Objective Measure the level of serum estradiol(E2),serum testosterone(T) ,serum progesterone(P) and serum cholosterol(CHOL) in cholesterol gallstone patients and healthy people, and analyse the relationship among the E2,T,P and CHOL. Evaluate the value of E2,T,P and CHOL to the gallbladder cholesterol formation. Methods and materials A total of 150 gallbladder cholesterol gallstone patients are selected as gallbladder cholesterol gallstone group,include 50 cases of male and 100 cases of female. Meanwile, selects the same quantity and sex ratio healthy people as the normal control.All the cases of the group of gallbladder cholesterol gallstone are confirmed by the ultrasound and operation ,experiment.The cases of two group have no adipositas, and have no disease that influence the level of sex hormone and serum cholesterol. All the cases don't take medicine which influence the level of sex hormone and blood-fat within one month.Serum estradiol(E2),serum testosterone(T) ,serum progesterone(P) levels were measured by chemiluminescence. Serum cholosterol was measured by enzymic method. The data of all subjects to express with x-±s .The date are proceed by SPSS 11.5 for statistical analysis, with P<0.05 considered statistically different.Results The age has no significant difference between cholesterol gallstone group and control group(P>0.05).The level of E2,CHOL and E2/T higher in gallbladder cholesterol gallstone group of female than in female healthy group(P<0.05),The level of P has no significant difference between female gallstone group and control group. Discrepancy has the significance of statistics.The level of serum T higher than control group(P<0.05), there are no significant different. The level of E2,CHOL and E2/T higher in gallbladder cholesterol gallstone group of male than in male healthy group(P<0.05).The level of serum T lower than control group(P<0.05), there are no significant different. Spearman correlation reveal that only E2 have positive correlation with the CHOL in the group of male gallbladder cholesterol gallstone(r=0.412,P=0.003). In the group of the male control group, female gallstone group, fenmale control group .There is no correlation between E2 and CHOL,T and CHOL,P and CHOL(P<0.05).Conclusions 1.The abnormal level of serum E2,T are relate with the formation of gallbladder cholesterol gallstone, the level of serum P is no significant in the formation of cholesterol gallstone.2.There are some relations between abnormal level of serum CHOL and the formation of cholesterol gallstone. 3.The higher level of Serum E2 and the lower level of serum T lead to the formation of gallbladder cholesterol gallstone. Serum estradiol has the function to advance the formation of cholesterol gallstone. Serum testosterone may have the effect guarding against the formation of gallbladder cholesterol gallstone. 4. There are positive correlation between serum estradiol and serum cholosterol in male gallbladder cholesterol patients.
