Objective:To analyze the screening rates of hyperglycemia in hypertensive in-patients as serume aldosterone level was classificated. Methods:Seven hundred and twenty-two hypertensive inpatients were enrolled between May.2008 and May.2010. All subjects measured plasma renin activity level and serume aldosterone level in the standard condition, and they all mearsured fasting glucose level. We suggested patients perform oral glucose tolerance test to define hyperglycemia, when their fasting glucose level was more than 5.6mmol/1. Results:①There were 56(22.1%) diabetes,11(4.3%) pre-diabetes in patients with serume aldosterone< 12.19 ng/ml,58(25.2%) diabetes,15(6.5%) pre-diabetes in patients with 12.19 ng/ml≤serume aldosterone< 17.88ng/ml and 65(27.2%) diabetes,28(11.7%) pre-diabetes in patients with serume aldosterone≥17.88ng/ml, the screening rates of hyperglycemia were inscreaning following the line inscreaning of classification of serume aldosterone level.②There were 22(15.9%) diabetes,5(3.6%) pre-diabetes in patients with serume aldosterone/plasma renin activity≥50 ng/ml-(pg/dl-h)-1,27(13.8%) diabetes,13(6.6%) pre-diabetes in patients with 20 ng/ml-(pg/dl-h)-1≤serume aldosterone/plasma renin activit<50ng/ml-(pg/dl-h)-1 and 130(33.4%) diabetes,36(9.3%) pre-diabetes in patients with serume aldosterone/plasma renin activit<20ng/ml-(pg/d1·h)-1, the screening rates of hyperglycemia were inscreaning following the line descreaning of classification of serume aldosterone level. Conclusion: Aldosterone was a possibale participative factor in hyperglycemia.
