【Objective】This research is to explore the normal value of thickness of children's wall of bladder at different ages and to understand the influence of filling volume to normal value of their thickness. It exams whether there is a differencese regarding thickness of wall of bladder through measuring the data of dogs' from outside body using color doppler ultrasound and inside body using ultrasound transducers.【Methods】420 children at different ages in our hospital in 2008-2009 are selected as cases to measure the thickness of the normal bladder wall using color doppler ultrasound. The normal thickness of the wall of bladder were compared under different bladder capacities and different parts. Ten adult dogs were selected to measure their thickness of wall of bladder through examing form outside of body using color doppler ultrasound and examing it inside of body directly.【Results】The value of thickness of normal bladder wall in 420 cases of children at all ages are as below. At empty filling volume, thickness of normal bladder wall for 1-3-years old children was: 2.90±0.24mm; thickness of normal bladder wall for 4-6 years old children was: 3.11±0.32 mm; thickness of normal bladder wall for 7-9 years old children was: 3.51±0.51 mm; thickness of normal bladder wall for 10-12 years old children was: 3.75±0.25 mm.At maximum volume, thickness of normal bladder wall for 1-3 years old children was: 0.73±0.21 mm; thickness of normal bladder wall for 4-6 years old children was: 1.07±0.25 mm; thickness of normal bladder wall for 7-9 years old children was: 1.21±0.59 mm; thickness of normal bladder wall for 10-12 years old children was: 1.63±0.93 mm. The differencese between these cases were significant (P <0.05). The difference of thickness of normal bladder at the top, bottom and side wall for children at same age and same filling volume was not significant (P >0.05).The difference of thickness of normal bladder wall for children at same age but different filling volume was significant (P >0.05). The difference of thickness of normal bladder at the top, bottom and side wall for children at different age and filling volume was significant (P <0.05).Compared with the data at the triangle, the difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05). Regarding the thickness of normal bladder wall for ten adult dogs with different bladder capacities, measuring form outside of body using color doppler ultrasound and it inside of body directly , the data was no significant difference (P> 0.05)【Conclusion】1.the thickness of bladder wall for children at all ages are thickening with age growing.2. The thickness of bladder wall at the top, bottom and side for normal children at same age and filling volume are same.3.The bladder wall at the top, bottom and side for normal children at same age will become thinner with the increase of filling volume.4. The thickness of normal bladder at the triangle are relatively stable, but with the increase of filling volume, the difference is not significant.5.the thickness of bladder wall for healthy adult dogs are basically same through examing the data form outside of body and inside of body directly. The thickness of bladder wall at the top, bottom and side for normal children at all ages but different sex is not significant.7. In the state of the bladder is not filling, the estimated value of bladder capacity are different form observed value of urinary volume. In the state of bladder filling, the estimated value of bladder capacity and observed value of urinary volume is no significant differences.
