The Preliminary Study Of Situation For The Infection Of Cpn In Hengyang City

Background:C pneumoniae is a common cause of acute respiratory infection, including community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), pharyngitis, bronchitis, sinusitis, and exacerbations of chronic bronchitis. Moreover, Cpn has been linked to including atherosclerotic,myocardial infarction,coronary heart disease and even cerebrovascular disease。Currently the methods used for the diagnosis of Cpn infections include serological diagnosis,molecular biology diagnosis and cell culture diagnosis. Because of simple and fast, serological diagnosis has becomed the common test method for Cpn infections.Objective:Detecte the Cpn infection with ELISA and PCR, learn the situation of the acute infection,past infection and re-infection for the Cpn, analyze the situation of Cpn infection in the region .Methods:ELISA was used to qualitative detect Cpn infection in serum obtained from 240 inpatients and PCR was used to test Cpn in detection of Cpn DNA in throat specimens from the 240 patients.Results:1. In different group of age,the positive rate for children,adults and elderly by PCR were:10.4%,4.9%,5.7%,the positive rate by ELISA were12.5%,41.0%,57.1%.2. In different group of gender, the positive rate for male and female by PCR were 6.5%,5.9%,the positive rate by ELISA were 36.2%,45.1%.3. In different group of disease, the positive rate for Pneumonia,Chronic bronchitis,Asthma,Bronchiectasis and COPD by PCR were 9.4%,5.9%,9.1%, 7.1%,19.1%, the positive rate by ELISA were28.1%,29.4%,36.4%,15.4%,61.7%。4. The positive rate for city and rural by PCR were 2.8%,11.2%, the positive rate by ELISA were 36.6%,44.9%.5. There were 12 patients had cough,10 patients had gasp and 5 petients had Sore throat, and also there were symptoms such as headache,rhinitis,hoarseness,chills beween the Cpn-positive patients.Conclusions:1. It is common that the first infection of Cpn for children , the past infection and re-infection for elderly. The children and the elderly are susceptible of Cpn infection.2. There are no obvious differences on distribution of Cpn infection with gender ;but there may be differences on distribution of Cpn infection between the city and rural, the positive rate in rural was higher than in city.3. Cpn usually cause the CAP, and it may be related with the acute break out of COPD.
