OBJECTIVES:To investigate the pathogens involved in acute cervicitisMETHODS:Patients were examined in our out patient department [OPD] of Gynecology, Xiangya Second Hospital of Central South University.Those who presented with signs and symptoms of cervicitis, cervical swab obtained from their cervical canal of the uterus,then sent for examination. Acute cervicitis was defined as>15 pus cells/high-power field.80 acute cervicitis patients were diagnosed and enrolled in our Study. Cervical smear of diagnosed patients were sent for laboratory examination to detect causative pathogens in acute cervicitis.Detail history of causative factors, related sign and symptoms of 80 women were also recorded.RESULTS:Ureaplasma urealyticum was found in 37 [46.2%] of women, Mycoplsma hominis was found in 10[12.5%],Mycoses was found in 2[2.50%] women., Chlamydia found in 1[1.2%], klebsiella in 1[1.2%] candida albicans in 1[1.2%],E.coli in 1[1.2%] E.faecalis in 1[1.2%] women respectively. 26[32.5%] women were diagnosed with acute cervicitis but not associated with any pathogens.CONCLUSION:Ureaplasma urealyticum and Mycoplasma hominis are highly significance pathogens in acute cervicitis Objective:To compare and see the results of moxifloxacin and cefaclor with azithromycin in acute cervicitisMethods:80 diagnosed acute cervicitis women in xiangya second hospital of central south university,Changsha,Hunan China were treated with two different groups of medicine Group A was azhithromycin 1g single dose with cefaclor 250 mg tid for 7 days while group B was moxifloxacin 400 mg qd for 7 days.They were adviced for follow up after 3 weeks.Results:41 patients were came for follow up.21 women were taken group A while 20 women were taken group B.In group A,6 patients were presented without any improvement of cervicitis,12 women showed some improvement and 3 women presented with cured of cervicitis.In group B,there were no any patients presented without any improvement of cervicitis,7 women presented with some improvement while 13 women cured of cervicitisConslusion:Result of Moxifloxacin may effective than combination of cefaclor and azithromycin for treatment of acute cervicitis...
