Objective: To systematic review the diagnostic value of serum CA125 and CA72-4 in ovarian cancer patients with ovary pathological diagnosis as the gold standard. Methods: Searching PubMed, Embase, Cochrane library, Ovid, CBM etc. for studies about serum CA125 and CA72-4 in the diagnosis of ovary cancer. We screened studies identified for inclusion and determined study eligibility according to the criteria of inclusion and exclusion. The characteristics of the included articles were appraised and extracted. Statistical analysis was performed by Meta-DiSc 1.4 software. Quality of included trials was assessed by QUADAS. Heterogeneity of the included articles was tested, which was used to select the proper effect model to calculate pooled weighted sensitivity, specificity. Then the summary receiver operating characteristic (SROC) curve was performed and the area under the curve (AUC) was calculated. Results: In total,12 relevant studies were entered this meta-analysis while 458 articles were searched .The studies involved 741 ovarian cancer patients and 1054 cases as the control group. The meta-analysis reported that the heterogeneity between CA125 and CA72-4 studies was high. The AUC were 0.9182 and 0.7376.Conclusion:The diagnosis value of CA125 and CA72-4 in ovarian cancer was good, the sensitivity of CA125 is higher than CA72-4,while the specificity is lower than it.
