Background: Dizzy, headache are common symptoms in the middle- aged and elderly people, chronic cerebral blood insufficient is a kind of disease that has these performance but no clinical symptoms. Imaging exa- mination don't find any lesion yet.It thought to have the same pathogen- nesis with the acute cerebral blood insufficient. Rupture of t plaques and thrombosis are main reason. Carotid artery intima thickness is index to gauge the carotid artery sclerosis and plaques the severity. Relatively regional cerebral blood flow can better response brain blood circulation state. A combination of these two methods will help to clear the ischemic cerebrovascular disease and vascular lesions cerebral blood flow state.Objective: To study carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) and the local relative cerebral blood perfusion in the patients with chronic cerebral blood deficiency and investigating their correlation,and found the risk foctors.Methods: Choosing 34 patients who were diagnosised as chronic cereb- ral blood deficiency, all of patients were examined by MRI and CDFI, to assay IMT and double hemisphere thalamus, knee, the internal capsule posterior capsule, the frontal lobe relative cerebral blood flow (rCBF), contra- sting the left area and right area. The valuable influence factor were filtrate and formulated with multiple regression analysis models.Results: the average of IMT is 0.83 mm. cerebral hemisphere rCBF statistics: genu of internal capsule showed statistically significant, the rest area are no difference. Men and women comparison was statistically signif- icant; SBP,TC,FPG,age,IMT were found to affect the rCBF in the internal capsule knee area ;SBP,LDL,TG,FPG,age,IMT were found to affect the rCBF in the thalamus area. rCBF of the thalamus and genu of internal capsule area shows correlation trend with the IMT ,related coefficient r = 0.56 and r = 0.34.Conclusions:There is negative correlate between IMT and the rCBF in the middle cerebral artery blood-supply area.
