Objective To build a nomogram normal fetal abdominal longitudinal diameter ratio, total lung area and lungs horizontal diameter throughout gestational age estimated by two-dimensional ultrasonography. Through these data to assess the value of lung development. Methods Two-dimensional ultrasonography was used to examine 592 normal singleton pregnancies at 18-40 weeks gestation. measured the heart horizontal tangent plane, the thoracic maximum diameter and the diameter and area, bilateral lungs pointed to the corresponding diaphragmatic dome gallery on the top of the vertical distance, diaphragmatic dome iterated top to the bottom of the fetus bladder distance respectively were measured at the standard the 4-chamber view and fetus torso coronary by ultrasonography. To analysis of lung area and lung diameter and the relationship between gestational age .Results The normal pregnancy fetal lung area and the lung diameter were increased with the gestational age adding. The best-fit regression equations of total lung areawas: ,R~2 =0.914; Lung horizontal diameter was: , R~2=0.892. The distance of the apex of lung to the diaphragm and the top of diaphragm to the bottom of the bladder close to a constant ratio of :0.44-0.59.Conclusions A nomogram of fetal lung areas and lung horizontal diameter estimated by two-dimensional ultrasonography ftom 18 to 40 weeks gestation is described, and reference values may be useful for the prenatal prediction of pulmonary hypoplasia. Abdominal diameter ratio close to a constant vertical.l.
