Objective:This study aims at analysing the effects and prognosis of different therapy in acute promyelocytic leukemia patients who were treated at the Hematologic Department of Teaching Hospital of Fujian Medical University from JAN.1999 to DEC.2010.Method: we review and analyse the clinical information of 233 acute promyelocytic leukemia patients who were treated at the hospital. Results :â‘ ATRA and As2O3 combination-based Induction therapy has higher complete remission (CR) rate than the single drug ATRA.â‘¡The combination-based therapy can prolong the OS,DFS than the single drug.In ATRA group ,the OS and DFS were not in?uenced by initial white blood cell count. In ATRA + As2O3 group ,the subgroup with lower initial white blood cell count has better OS and DFS than the higher one.â‘¢ATRA and As2O3 combination-based therapy can lower the relapse rate in acute promyelocytic than the single drug ATRA.â‘£The main cause of induction deaths is hemorrhage. Conclusions: ATRA and As2O3 combination-based therapy can prolong the overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) than the single drug ATRA..
