Research On The Status Quo And Optimization Strategies Of Treatment Of Infectious Diseases With TCM

Objectives: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is not only an important part of the world's medicine, but also the crystallization of our ancient history and culture. It makes a positive contribution to human health and highlights the advantages and charm in the infectious disease treatment, rehabilitation and health care, etc. This issue analyses the status quo of infectious diseases treatment with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and summarizes the constraints related to it, and discuses the countermeasures.Methods: The research depends on the task of the important investigation plan of National Chinese Medicine Administer Bureau. The relative information is collected by referring literature, questionnaire survey and interview. This study is based on the status quo data of Fuzhou treatment of infectious diseases with TCM, from the health service providers' and the health sector leaders' and experts' point of view, to describe the role of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the infectious disease treatment system and its influencing factors, and using the SWOT Analysis method to analyze the Traditional Chinese Medicine Service about its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.Conclusions: The conclusions can mainly be concluded as following:First, The ability to treat infectious diseases with TCM has greatly improved. In the treatment of SARS, H1N1 influenza A, Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD), hepatitis B, etc., Traditional Chinese Medicine has outstanding characteristics and advantages to provide better medical services for the people. The government attaches great importance to the work, and in each epidemic, the country develops guidelines on the prevention and control epidemic with TCM. The work of treatment of infectious diseases is in general showing the health development.Second, Traditional Chinese Medicine has a long history and the diagnosis and treatment is very experienced. In the treatment of infectious diseases, it emphasizes maintaining the status quo. Practice has proved that Traditional Chinese medicine can play a role in response to viral infection or unknown infectious disease pathogens, drug resistance against the body, reducing side effects, making up for the slow development of vaccine research. TCM in the field of the treatment of infectious diseases is free outside threshold and the voice continued losses, although the Government has taken several measures to encourage the development of it.Third, the development environment of the treatment of infectious diseases with TCM to be improved. From the internal environment, such as difficulty for TCM to be applied to treatment, lack of qualified personnel and clinical and experimental research; from the external environment, faced with financial input deficiency,lack of publicity and legal support etc.Fourth, Although emphasis on the importance in developing TCM together with Western Medicine is an important work principle of health, but the field of infectious diseases has been mainly dominated by Western Medicine. We should face up to the respective strengths and weaknesses of TCM and Western Medicine, so that a combination of both treats the infectious diseases, which not only plays the advantages of Traditional Chinese Medicine of diagnosis and treatment, holistic therapeutic and individual differences but also plays the advantages of Western Medicine of treatment for specific pathogens. Both of the medical systems can learn from and complement each other in order to achieve in the context of modern Western Medicine co-prosperity.
