Using hyperlipidaemia model of New Zealand rabbit, observing the effects of eating Auricularia auricula-judae on hemorheology in hyperlipidemic rabbit, in order to provide new quantitative evidence of dietary safety on its medicinal function as a functional food.These 40 rabbits were randomly divided into two groups:a normal control group, a hyperlipemia model group. In the normal control group (group I) each rabbit was fed 100g common pellet standard diet every day. In the hyperlipemia model group each one was fed 100g cholesterol-rich diet, which contained 0.5g cholesterol every day. This way was continued for 4 weeks to establish the model. After the establishment, the normal control group (group I) was continue fed the standard diet until the end of the 24th week. The hyperlipemia model group was divided into four groups (n=8):a hyperlipemia model group (groupâ…¡) was continuing fed the cholesterol-rich diet till the end of the 12th week. From the beginning of the 13th week, groupâ…¡was fed the standard diet till the end of the 24th week; a low-dose of A. auricula-judae group (groupâ…¢), a medium-dose of A. auricula-judae group (groupIV), a high-dose of A. auricula-judae group (groupâ…¤). These three groups were administered with 2.5g,5g,7.5g of A. auricula-judae every day, respectively, and in addition to 0.5g cholesterol and standard chow diet till the end of the 12th week. From the beginning of the 13th week, these three groups were fed administered with 2.5g,5g,7.5g of A. auricula-judae every day, respectively and standard chow diet till the end of the 24th week. Each rabbit was fed 100g/day total diet twice times daily in a single cage with water ad libitum. There were 24 weeks during the whole experiment. After the establishment of hyperlipemia model, blood samples were drawn every four weeks from cardiac puncture for determination of hemorheologic parameters five times.Results showed:Effect of the whole blood viscosity at low shear:after dietary A. auricula-judae 4 weeks, the low, medium and high dose group had significant decrease than model group, the high dose had no significant difference than control group; after dietary A. auricula-judae 8 weeks, the high dose had significant decrease than control group, the low and medium dose group had no significant difference than control group; after dietary A. auricula-judae 12 weeks, the high dose had rise tendency, but no significant different..Effect of the whole blood viscosity at medium shear:after dietary A auricula-judae 4 weeks, the low dose group had no decrease obviously and no significant different than model group, the medium and high dose group had significant decrease than model group, the high dose had no significant difference than control group; after dietary A. auricula-judae 8 weeks, the low, medium and high dose group had no significant difference than control group.Effect of the whole blood viscosity at high shear:after dietary A. auricula-judae 4 weeks, the low, medium and high dose group had significant decrease than model group, the high dose had no significant difference than control group; after dietary A. auricula-judae 8 weeks, every dose group had no significant difference than control group.Effect of plasma viscosity:after dietary A. auricula-judae 4 weeks, the low and medium dose group had no significant difference than model group; the high dose had significant decrease than model group and had no significant difference than control group; after dietary A. auricula-judae 8 weeks, every dose group had no significant difference than control group; after dietary A. auricula-judae 16weeks, the high dose had significant difference than control group.Effect of hematocrit:after dietary A. auricula-judae 4 weeks, the low dose group had no significant difference than model group, the medium and high dose group had significant decrease than model group, the high dose had no significant difference than control group; after dietary A. auricula-judae 8 weeks, the low and medium dose group had no significant difference than control group; the high dose had significant decrease than control group.Effect of erythrocyte sedimentation rate:there were no significant difference except the high dose had significant difference than model group at the 3rd time.Effect of erythrocyte aggregation:after dietary A. auricula-judae 4 weeks, the low dose group had no significant difference than model group, the medium and high dose group had significant decrease than model group; after dietary A. auricula-judae 8 weeks, the low and medium dose group had no significant difference than control group; the high dose had significant decrease than control group; after dietary A. auricula-judae 12 weeks, the high dose had rise tendency.Effect of erythrocyte deformation:after dietary A. auricula-judae 4 weeks, the low and medium dose group had no significant difference than model group; the high dose had no significant difference than control group; after dietary A. auricula-judae 12 weeks, the high dose had significant difference than control group, after dietary A. auricula-judae 16weeks, the high dose had declining trend. We compared to every detection times and every groups, founding that the medium doses group of Auricularia auricula-judae was the optimal dose to improve the effect on Hemorheology in Hyperlipidemic Rabbit.
