Research Of Clinical Effect And Mechanism Of Chinese Medicine Verruca Clean Praeparatum To Treat Cervical HPV Infection

Background of the studyCervical carcinoma disease incidence accounts the first place in women' malignant tumours of reproduction, and its main factor is high risk human papillomatous virus (HPV) infection. However there is still no specific remedy to treat cervical HPV infection at present, accordingly it is of great importance to develop Chinese medicine to find external application with good effect and little side effect.ObjectivesChinese medicine Verruca Clean Praeparatum for external treatment on cervix HPV subclinical infected people, comparative study on their clinical symptom, HPV virus loading dose, cervical pathology results and hTERT mRNA expression to assess its clinical efficacy and find its probable mechanism.Methods70 patients who match the research's conditions from Guangdong Hospital of TCM through March and December in 2010 were divided into two group with randomized method. The treatment group external applied with Chinese medicine Verruca Clean Praeparatum while control group treated by physiological saline. Follow up and recheck every index when the 4th period is over.Result1. Two groups own controlled in prior treatment and post-treatment equal have statistical significance (P<0.01) in clinical symptom integral calculus. Comparison between two groups after application with significant difference (P<0.01), the positive rates of treatment group and control group were respectively expressed as 96.6% and 30.0%. It acquired that treatment group have obviously effect in clinical symptom and physical sign.2. The treatment group in prior treatment and post-treatment has obviously significant difference (P<0.01), while the control group owns no statistical significance (P>0.05), and comparison between two groups after treatment with obviously significant difference (P<0.01), the transfer rates of treatment group and control group were 62.1% and 16.7%. It provides reliable evidence in Verruca Clean Praeparatum's clinic using in clearing HPV.3. As to cervical pathology results'reversion, both groups own no statistical significance(P>0.05) in prior treatment and post-treatment comparison, while the comparison after treatment between two groups with significant difference (P<0.05), the reverse rates of treatment group and control group were expressed as 31.0% and 6.7%, shows Verruca Clean Praeparatum takes positive effect in reversing cervical pathology result.4. The treatment group with obviously significant difference (P<0.01) in prior treatment and post-treatment's comparison, and the expression of hTERT mRNA was distinctly reduced; Comparison between two groups after treatment owns statistical significance(P<0.01), the index of control group is higher than treatment group, indicating Verruca Clean Praeparatum plays a role in regulating and controlling the expression of hTERT mRNA and the activation of telomerase.ConclusionChinese medicine Verruca Clean Praeparatum can block virus replication and treat cervical intraepithelial neoplasis (CIN) by bringing down the expression of hTERT mRNA and inhibiting the activation of telomerase.
