Objective To indentify the effects of sensory Gating of P50 in hippocampus in rats after prenatal exposure to 1800 MHz electromagnetic radiation.Method 48 SPF SD rats aged of 7 weeked-old, female 32, male 16, were caged together by 2:1 when night. Pregnant rats were randomly divided into four groups (8 rats of each group),that is control group one, control group two, experimental group one experimental group two. Pregnant rats of experimental groups were exposured to 1800MHz electromagnetic radiation with power density of 0.5 mW/cm2 or 1.0 mW/cm2 respectively, continuously twenty-one days (pregnanct times),12 hours every day.and the power density of electromagnetic radiation of control group is background value. Test and record sensory gating of P50 in offspring rats after the end of exposure when offspring rats borned and growthed to 7 weeks by conditions-test double acoustic stimulation mode. By comparition differences of the effects of sensory gating of P50 betwwen control group two and experimental group, to indentify the effects of sensory gating of P50 in hippocampus in offspring rats after Prenatal exposure to 1800 MHz electromagnetic radiation. Control groups and experimental groups have the same temperature, humidity, background noise and other environmental conditions. Results The value of P50 T/C ratio and P50 S2 peak-peak in hippocampus of male rats in experimental group two is bigger than comparasion group and the differences had Statistically significant. The P50 auditory evoked potential of T/C ratio, S2 peak, S1 peak, S2 and S1 latency in other groups had no significant differences. Conclusion The power density of 1.0 mW/cm2 of 1800 MHz electromagnetic radiation had effects to sensory gating P50 in male offspring rats after pregnanct rat exposed to this electromagnetic radiation.
