Aims:To investigate the effects of Chushihuayu prescription on serum urine acid, serum lipids and insulin resistance of hyperuricemia patients and study the mechanism of Chushihuayu prescription.Methods:60 patients with damp-heat with blood stasis were randomly divided into two treatment groups:the Chushihuayu group and the Allopurinol group. The levels of serum urine acid (sUA), triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC), fasting plasma glucose (FPG), fasting insulin (FINS), insulin resistance index (IRI), endothelin-1(ET-1), and plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) of patients before and after 8-week treatment were analyzed and compared. Results:After 8-week treatment, (1):the Chushihuayu group is much better than the Allopurinol group on relieving the symptoms(p<0.01). (2): Both groups show decreased levels of sUA(p<0.01). However, no significant difference has been found between the two groups(p>0.05). (3):The Chushihuayu group shows significant decrease of the levels of TC and TG than the Allopurinol group(p<0.01). (4):Also, the Chushihuayu group shows significant reduction of the levels of FPG and FINS than the Allopurinol group(p<0.05). (5):The levels of ET-1 and PAI-1 was decreased in both groups after 8-week treatment(p<0.01). However, there is no difference between two groups(p>0.05).Conclusion:(1). Chushihuayu prescription relieves the symptoms of hyperuricemia patients. (2). The Chushihuayu treatment decreases the levels of TC, TG, FPG, FINS, and improves the IRI. (3). Chushihuayu prescription treatment reduces the levels of sUA, ET-1 and PAI-1 of hyperuricemia patients.
