| Object:To explore the relationship between expression of Type IV Collagen (IV-C) in liver of chronic hepatitis B and liver fibrosis, to provide the pathological basis for understanding the formation and development of liver fibrosis. Methods:Liver biopsy was performed in 32 patients with chronic hepatitis B to the pathological diagnosis of liver tissue to determine the degree of liver fibrosis. Immunohistochemical staining with IV-C was used to all these 32 cases, and do the semi-quantative analysis to measure the average optical density which can represents the contents of IV-C in tissiue. Serologic Index of Liver fibrosis (HA, IV-C, PCIII, LN), ALT and AST were also measured in these 32 patients. Analyze the relationships between these serologic index of liver fibrosis, expression of IV-C in liver and the degree of liver fibrosis. Results:Serologic index of liver fibrosis (HA, IV-C, PCIII, LN)were increased along with the degree of liver fibrosis;the expression of IV-C in liver and serum IV-Cthey were positively correlated with the degree of liver fibrosis (average optical density r=0.761,p<0.01;Serum IV-C r=0.775 p<0.01). They had no significant correlation with the ALT and AST.Conclusion:IV-C has an important role in the formation and progress of liver fibrosis. Serologic index of liver fibrosis is helpful in diagnosing the degree of liver fibrosis... |
