ObjectiveCompare the brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) of type 2 diabetic(T2DM) and normal control group. To investigate the association between baPWV and fasting blood glucose(FBG),course of T2DM, (intima—media thickness)IMT , explore the significance of baPWV complication of T2DM patients discovered in early stage.Methods90 T2DM patients were collected, aged 40-65, male and female each 45people. 90 normal control group were collected, aged 40-60, male 50 people, female 35 people. Relevant clinical data including, baPWV,IMT, age, weight index, sex ratio smoking ratio, drinking ratio, FBG.ResultsT2DM patients showed higher FBG than the normal control group(5.62±0.47,9.80±1.10,P<0.05). T2DM patients showed higher baPWV and IMT than the normal control group (1307.60±109.10, 1599±243.7 P<0.05) (0.63±0.06, 0.88±0.17, P<0.05).BaPWV positive correlated with the course of T2DM, FBG, IMT (r=0.326, P=0.008; r=0.541, P=0.016; r=0.483, P=0.008).ConclusionBaPWV is significantly correlated with type 2 diabetic vascular lesions risk factors,so it has considerable reference value in the early diagnosis and treatment of type 2 diabetic vascular lesions. For noninvasive, simple operation, repeatability, sensitive wait for a characteristic, have been widely applied in clinical monitoring vascular lesions.
