Objective: To examine (Dickkopf-3,DKK3) expression in breast cancer and to explore its clinical and prognostic significance。Methods: DKK3 gene product was detected by immunohistochemistry in breast (including breast intraductal papilloma(n=18),breast Atypical ductal hyperplasia(n=14), breast cancer(n=103)).Results: 1. Among the breast intraductal papilloma,breast Atypical ductal and the breast cancer,the expression of DKK3 is 78%,35% and 31%. Compared to breast intraductal papilloma,the DKK3 protein expression was significant lower in the breast Atypical ductal hyperplasia (P<0.05)and the breast cancer (p<0.01).2.In breast cancer , DKK3 expression was associated with histological grade and menopausal status.3. Kaplan-Meier survival curve showed the overall survival rate of patients with DKK3 high expression was superior to those with low expression (P<0.05).Conclusion: The lower expression level of DKK3 protein may play an important role in the development of breast cancer。DKK3 may be used as a marker for prediction of the prognosis of patients with breast cancer。...
