| Background Prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc (PLID) is not be realized in Chinese history.It was not discribed untill Sui Dynasty. The mssage and traction was used to treat it in time of Hippcrates. The first PLID—operation of the world was reported in 1934. The first PLID—operation was reported in 1946 in China. The conservative-treatment to treat the PLID is primary methods in traditional Chinese medical.Objectives To make a retrospective research to conservative-treatment to the PLID in the clinic and summarize the main factor to effect the curative effect, and discuss the relationship of the traditional Chinese medicine and the curative effect.Methods Make statistic to the in-patients with conservative-treatment PLID in orthopaedic ward 2 and recovery ward of GuangDong Province Hospital Of Traditional Chinese Medicine ZHUHAI BRANCH from November,2007 to Decmber,2010 on file. And research the relationship of the treatment and the effect according to wither to apply the research therapy. Then make Clustering to the syndrome, and research the curative effect of different syndrome. Statistic analized the result with Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) 16.0 and Microsoft Office Excel 2003, and did it by chi-square test and variance analise.Result Of the total 786 cases,407 cases with massage treatment,129 cases with tow treatment,286 cases with acupuncture and moxibustion treatment,784 cases with physics treatment,392 cases with medicine treatment,785 cases with traditional Chinese medicine treatment, the age constirution accord with the student's t-distribution.The average in ward time is 12 days. course of disease is statistically significan. (P<0.05) The total ratio of the effect is 99.4%.Totally,108 case is treated by tradional Chinese medicine and physiotherapy, the ratio of effective is 98.2%, the ratio of mend is 100.0%, the ratio of the cure is 0.0%.In the case with traditional Chinese medicine methods,94 cases with traditional Chinese medicine herb and physics treatment is not with good effects until add the massage treatment (the ratio of mend is 100%).55 cases with traditional Chinese medicine herb and physics treatment is not with good effects until add the acupuncture and moxibustion treatment (the ratio of mend is 23.6%, the ratio of the cure is 74.5%.).33 cases with traditional Chinese medicine herb and physics treatment is not with good effects until add the massage and acupuncture and moxibustion treatment (the ratio of mend is 100%.) 33 cases with traditional Chinese medicine herb and physics treatment is not with good effects until add the massage and tow treatment (the ratio of mend is 100%.)In the case with traditional Chinese medicine methods and medicine,138 cases with traditional Chinese medicine herb and physics treatment is not with good effects until add the medicine treatment (the ratio of mend is 32.6%, the ratio of the cure is 66.7%.).87 cases with traditional Chinese medicine herb massage and physics treatment is not with good effects until add the medicine treatment (the ratio of mend is 100%).64 cases with traditional Chinese medicine herb massage acupuncture and moxibustion treatment and physics treatment is not with good effects until add the medicine treatment (the ratio of mend is 100%).45 cases with traditional Chinese medicine herb acupuncture and moxibustion treatment and physics treatment is not with good effects until add the medicine treatment (the ratio of mend is 28.9%, the ratio of the cure is 71.1%.).In the 301 cases of therapy with basic treat (traditional Chinese medicine herb and physics treatment) and another conservative-treatment, P=0.058 by Fisher's Exact Test. The rate is 59.4% between 25～49 years, then 16.9% between 50～59 years, and 12.0% between 60～69 years,8.0% between 70～83 years, the least is 3.7%<25years. It is not significant by rank sum test(P=0.590) between in ward time and the times. The mean time is 11.68 days. It is not significant by rank sum test (P=0.720) between in ward time and age. In the 301 cases of therapy with basic treat (traditional Chinese medicine herb and physics treatment) and another conservative-treatment, P=0.000 by Fisher's Exact Test. The the ratio of mend is 23.6%, the ratio of the cure is 74.5% of the group with basic treatment and acupuncture and moxibustion. The the ratio of mend is 32.6%, the ratio of the cure is 66.7% of the group with basic treatment and medicine. The the ratio of mend is 35.7%, the ratio of the cure is 64.3% of the group with basic treatment and tow treatment. The the ratio of mend is 100.0% of the group with basic treatment and massage. Most of the symptom is qi depression and blood stasis(58.1%)and liver and kidney deficiency (20.1%), and follow with deficiency of kidney and blood stasis (10.6%), cold and dampness stasis (7.1%), dampness and hot stasis (2.3%), qi deficiency and blood stasis (1.8%)The cure of the case with deficiency of kidney and blood stasis symptom is least, the case with dampness and hot stasis symptom is best in short time. Conclusion The retrospective review shows that the single treatment include massage treatment, tow treatment, acupuncture and moxibustion treatment, physics treatment, medicine treatment, traditional Chinese medicine treatment, could be the main factor to the result directly, and conservative-treatment is a good method to the patient. And the 3-5 sorts of synthesis treatment include tradional Chinese medicine and physiotherapy could come to the satisfying effect ratio and more ecnomic. And the acupuncture and moxibustion treatment could be the first methods to be choose, then the medicine tow or massage treatment. The age and times in wards is not the main factor to the effect. The curative-rate in each syndrome is identical. The deficiency of kidney and blood stasis is worst,while the dampness and hot stasis is the best of the effect.
