BackgroundIn recent years, the quantity of Cervical Spondylotic (CS) is increasing rapidly and the patients are tend to younger. Cervical spondylotic radiculopathy (CSR) is about 60 percent to 70 percent of Cervical Spondylotic. CSR is because of the cervical intervertebral disc degeneration, outstanding, segmental instability, bone hyperplasia or bone formation of vegetation in the spinal canal or reasons in intervertebral foramen stimulate and oppressive nerve root and cause with consistent with nerve root dominate the feeling, sports, reflex obstacles for the main performance of the disease. The disease occurs in 40 to 60 years, but with the adults between popularization of the computer, people were using the computer for a long time when fixed cervical and lack of effective rest, cause local muscle tension, strain, cause cervical disc degeneration, outstanding, segmental instability and cause nerve root oppression, therefore the age of onset of the disease has been tend to younger. And male patients are more than women with a high incidence, treatment time is long, after treatment etc, Easily recurrence. Treatments mainly TCM therapy is given priority to, its purpose is to correct the anatomic status, cervical eliminate or alleviate the symptoms, stop or slow progression of disease, favors the trauma recovery and rehabilitation, prevent relapse disease. But each treatment of the long-term efficacy also poor.ObjectivesTo observe the clinical effect of the warm acupuncture on the pionts Dazhu and Shenshu combined with electroacunputure Jiaji poin in treating cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, we treated the participants in control group only with electroacunputure Jiaji poin. and then compared the differences between two groups from short-term and long-term clinical effect and this offered a new kind of ideas for the treatment of CSR.Methods1. According to the diagnostic standards from "the second rap on cervical disease" which held in Qingdao in october 1992, we randomized the participants in two groups:the Observation group and the Control group, each group had 30 cases. The Observation group was treated with the warm acupuncture on the pionts Dazhu and Shenshu combined with electroacunputure Jiaji poin, and the Control group was treated with electroacunputure Jiaji poin.2. The participants in the Control group was in this way:do a electroacunputure Jiaji poin, the strength of electricity is the patient just can be beared.30min every time, treated once every day(from Monday to Friday).3. The participants in the Observation group was in this way:first, do a electroacunputure Jiaji poin, the strength of electricity is the patient just can be beared. Second, do a warm acupuncture on the pionts Dazhu and Shenshu with each the handle of a 2cm mox, two moxes erery time. A week is a course, and each treatment last two courses.4. Efficiency evaluation:According to the efficiency evaluation criteria is from《Chinese medicine's effect standard medical certificate》which offered by the state administration in 1994 and reference to《the effect the assessment of study on cervical disease》on the relevant standards. the efficiency evaluation as follows:cured:symptoms and signs were disappeared, body strength was normal, neck and upper limb function back to normal, you can participate in normal working and the symptoms was alleviated≥90%;significant effective:symptoms were visible improved, the pain of neck and shoulder has abated, neck and upper limb function were visible improved, and the symptoms was alleviated≥75%;Effective:symptoms have abated, the pain of neck and shoudback has abated, but still remains part of the symptoms and signs, and the symptoms was alleviated≥30%;Ineffective:the symptoms and signs and symptoms before-treatment didn't have any change or be worse than that of after-treatment, and the symptoms was alleviated<30%.The total effective rate was the cured rate add the significant effective rate add effective rate.We observed the symptom and sign integral scores of the two groups, and compared the pre-scores with post-scores in each group, then compared the differences between the two groups. We observed the recurrence of the symptoms and signs one month later and 2 months later, to estimate the long-term effective of the disease.Results1. After the treatment, there were 30 cases in Observation group, and we cured 14 cases, and the significant effective was 10cases, and the effective was 6 cases, and 0 cases were ineffective, always efficient was 100.00%. In contrast, there were 30 cases in Control group, and were cured 9 cases, and the significant effective was 9 cases, and the effective was 12 cases, and 0 cases were ineffective, always efficient was 100.00%, so the difference between two groups was not significantly different (P=0.096 >0.05), so the effect is not difference between the Observation group and the Control group.2. The follow-up after one month, the difference between two groups was significantly different (P=0.001<0.05), so the Observation group is more effective than that of the Control group a month later.3. The follow-up after two months, the difference between two groups was significantly different (P=0.001<0.05), so the Observation group is more effective than that of the Control group two month later.ConclusionThe two groups are effective methods to treat cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, but the Observation group is more effective than the Control group. According to the two months follow-up, the long-term effect of the Observation group is better than that of the Control group. So the warm acupuncture on the pionts Dazhu and Shenshu combined with electroacunputure Jiaji poin in treating cervical spondylotic radiculopathy is more effective, it is a a new ideas and methods to treat ervical spondylotic radiculopathy.
