Clinical Research Of Budesonide Suspension In Patients With Chronic Rhinosinusitis After ESS

Objective:Whether absorbable gelatin spong with Budesonide suspension locally applied in chronic rhinosinusitis after ESS (endoscopic sinus surgery) could promote reepithelization and improve nasal symptom status.so as to guide the clinical treatments.Methods:The clinical data of 72 cases(36 pairs)arranged to endoscopic sinus surgery in hospital from Sep.2009 to Dec.2010 were selected in our prospective stratified paire-controlled trials.They were classified 3 types(typeâ… ,typeâ…¡and typeâ…¢)according to the clinical classification of rhinosinusitis,then paired 36 pairs (1:1)based on allergic reasons and ages.before ESS.the patients were arranged to survey nasal symptom status:VAS:as well as inquired medical record.Lund-Mackay CT system scoring.After ESS.72 cases were followed up.During the phrase of transitionary competing process of mucosa.absorbable gelatin spongs with Budesonide suspension were locally applied in the traumatic areas in experimental groups.All the cases were followed up 6 months.the time of reepithelization of mucosa were observed and recorded.After 6 months of surgery.all the patients were subjectively assessed of VAS and objectively assessed of Lund-Kennedy endoscopic scoring.Then the statistical correlationship and differences were investigated among experimental groups and controlled groups in 3 types.Results:1.Before Ess.the subjective assessment of VAS and objective assessment of Lund-Mackay CT system scoers between experimental groups and controlled groups in 3 types showed no significant statistical differences(P>0.05).The experimental groups and controlled groups had the identical characters in 3 types; 2.There were significant statistical differences in the assessment of VAS among experimental groups and controlled groups in typeâ…¡and typeâ…¢(P<0.05)except typeâ… (P>0.05)after 6 months of surgery.The nasal symptom status improved significantly better in experimental groups of typeâ…¡and typeâ…¢; 3.The objective assessments,including the time of reepithelization and Lund-Kennedy endoscopic scores (6 months later)had obvious statistical difference of the experimental groups and controlled groups in 3 types(P<0.05).Compared with controlled groups,the time of reepithelization was significantly shorter and Lund-Kennedy endoscopic scores were significantly lower in experimental groups; 4.There were no obvious adverse effects observed in the follow-up process of using Budesonide suspension.Conclusion:Absorbable gelatin spong with Budesonide suspension locally applied in chronic rhinosinusitis after endoscopic sinus surgery can apparently improve the nasal symptom status,promote reepithelization and shorten the treatment course.It could be recommended in adults.
