Summary On Gynecological Academic Origin And Clinical Experience In Hunan Area

Objectives:By exploring the academic origin of gynecology from ancient to modern times and the clinical experients of each physician in gynecology field in Hunan area, and summarizing their academic thought, to illuminate the characteristics of gynecologic development, gynecological literature, physicians and their theories in treating gynecological and obstetrical diseases in Hunan area.Methods:By searching in VIP Database of Chinese Journals, National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Super Star Digital Library, DiuXiu and other electronic resources, and manually searching existing library data in the library of Hunan University of TCM, collected, sorted and studied the relatively completed gynecologic scientific literature in Hunan area from the Qin Dynasty to the modern times. Discussed, concluded and summarized the experience of Hunan gynecologists, who contributed a lot.Result:Gynecology in Hunan area had a long history, as early as the Pre-Qin period, there was works recording gynecologic contents. However, after the search of literature in each dynasty historical record, there were few Hunan area doctors specializing in gynecology before Song and Yuan Dynasties, and rare specialized literature. Until Song and Yuan Dynasties, there were more special works on gynecology and obstetrics. Time to the Qing Dynasty, with the popular of medicine of Hunan area, the number of recorded physicians specializing in gynecology increased in Hunan area region, ensuing a group of influential gynecological literature to come out. Time to the Republic of China, as the gradual shift of the model of medical education from the traditional "Master Teaching apprentice" to the school education, relatively systemic gynecologic text books were published. And there are more and more famous gynecologists with remarkable medical skills and high medical ethics.Conclusion:The gynecological works in Hunan area have elaborated comprehensive content in short articles; In spite of the restrictions of historical eviroments and feudatorial ethics, the gynecologists in Hunan area always hold on the spirit of "to Be Nomber One", draw and inherit the enssence from predecessor, bring forth new ideas, and constantly create new splendor for gynecology in Hunan area.
