Objective: To study the risk factors of depression, the initial preparation of the"Prediction Scale of Military Stress Reaction Depression"and the norms. To provide low-cost screening of high risk, high-throughput, user-friendly assessment tool stress for the troops, to predict the possibility of depression before stress (usually), provide premise data for the development of preventive measures. Methods: The 2134 officers and soldiers as the primary subject of this study. Refer to the related research on depression, select 184 relevant entries from the widely applied psychological scale to form the"Entries pool". Under the military stress conditions, compare scores of the main entry criterion (depression self-assessment questionnaire (SDS)) with selected items. Based on their relevance, form the primitive version of"Prediction Scale of Military Stress Reaction Depression". By item analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, obtain the final version of the scale. Then analyze reliability and validity of the scale. Results: 1. Multiple regression analysis: There are 31 entries which get into the regression equation, After the evaluating of the readability and suitability, the initial scale of 28 entries has been formed. 2. In the variable correlation matrix of "Initial inventory of 28", using Bartlett sphericity test and Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin measure, KMO is 0.83 (P <0.000), which means factor analysis can be used between entries. Using factor analysis (principal component analysis with orthogonal rotation method the maximum) on the initial scale of 28, 5 common factors were extracted. It matches the theoretical concept of the scale, the 5 common factors on the cumulative contribution rate of population variance is 36.03%. 3. Confirmatory factor analysis: E61, E27 entirely on the factor 2 greater than 0.30 standard loads, the performance of various indicators of model fit well, reached statistical requirements. At last finalized the formal scale of "military stress predicted depression scale" (28 items). 4. Reliability and Validity: The internal consistency reliabilityαcoefficient of 0.72, split-half reliability test results, Guttman split-half reliability was 0.67, Spearman-Brown formula modified split-half reliability was 0.68, indicating that the scale reliability is able to meet projected requirements. 5. To SDS-based criterion, the predicted rate of the scale is 76.88% -88.59%.Conclusion: The scale can be as large used to evaluate the risk of depression in the future. Provide premise data for the development of preventive measures.
