Objective:Research the diffusion tensor imaging characteristics of SCA2 patients and the correlation of its clinical characteristics and magnetic resonance. Methods:We chose 10 cases confirmed by genetic testing for patients with SCA2 as case group, acquisition of its clinical data and 10 healthy volunteers as control group, then made them do DTI. Then measuring the ADC values and FA values of the cases group and the control group in medulla oblongata, the cerebellum white matter, brachium pontis, pons, black substance, putamen, globus pallidus, anterior limb of internal capsule, genu of internal capsule, posterior limb of internal capsule, genu of corpus callosum, splenium of corpus callosum and cerebral white matter. And doing t-test. At the same time using UMSARS scale and ICARS scale to assess the clinical symptoms of SCA2. After that analysising the correlation of the ADC values, the FA value of the statistically significant parts and the ICARS scale ,UMSARS scale and the course of disease. Analysising of CAG repeats with imaging changes, rating scale and onset ages of relevancy. Last, comparing of SCA2 patients with normal nerve fibers arrangement visually through 3d reconstruction (DTT).Results:(1) The ADC values of medulla oblongata, the cerebellum white matter, brachium pontis, pons, black substance, putamen, globus pallidus, anterior limb of internal capsule of case group were significantly higher than the control group. The FA values of medulla oblongata, the cerebellum white matter, brachium pontis, pons, putamen, anterior limb of internal capsule , genu of internal capsule, posterior limb of internal capsule, genu of corpus callosum, splenium of corpus callosum, cerebral white matter of case group were significantly lower than the control group.(2) The ADC values of medulla oblongata and anterior limb of internal capsule were related with the posture and gait obstacles, dynamic function, the language barrier and ICARS scale scores and UMSARS scale assembly, and had nothing to do with oculomotor disorders. The ADC values of brachium pontis, pons, black substance, putamen with the contents of the ICARS and the total scores of ICARS scale and UMSARS scale were into positive correlation. The ADC values of the cerebellum white matter and globus pallidus with two scales were not display correlation. The FA values of medulla oblongata, the cerebellum white matter, brachium pontis, pons, posterior limb of internal capsule, splenium of corpus callosum and cerebral white matter and two scales are a negative correlation. The FA value of anterior limb of internal capsule was negatively related to the posture and gait obstacles, dynamic function, the language barrier and the total scores of ICARS scale and UMSARS scale, and had nothing to do with oculomotor disorders. The FA values of putamen, genu of internal capsule and genu of corpus callosum were not display correlation.(3) CAG repeat sequences were unrelated with the ADC values of the statistically significant parts, had a negative correlation with the FA values of the cerebellum white matter and putamen, and were unrelated with the FA values of the rest meaningful parts. CAG repeat sequences and two rating scales were unrelated, and onset ages into obvious negative correlation.(4) DTT could visually display normal nerve fiber closely-arranged, orderly and going do smooth. The nerve fibers of patients in serious condition showed disorders, sparse, serious fracture. But lesions lighter patients, fiber did not change obviously.Conclusions:(1) Based on the ADC values and the FA values measurement of certain parts of the brain SCA2 diagnosis can be supported effectively, among them with the most accurate measurement in the medulla oblongata, brachium pontis and pons.(2) The DTI imaging characteristics of SCA2 and ICARS, UMSARS rating scales have good correlation, and both combined application can assist disease diagnosis and assess about illness.(3) CAG repeat sequences have no correlation with imaging changes and ICARS, UMSARS rating scales but are significantly related with onset ages.(4) The diagnostic value of DTT for SCA2 is limited.
