With the continuous development of nuclear technology, mankind has been able to peaceful use nuclear energy; nuclear energy is no longer limited to military applications, but also a major source of commercial energy. Nuclear energy is a safe, clean and sustainable supply of energy, compared to other energy sources, more conducive to save natural resources and protect the environment. In alleviating the growing tensions of traditional energy supply, climate change and other aspects of the increasingly serious situation, it can play an important role. However, due to the peaceful use of nuclear energy, nor the world can not ignore its potential environmental pollution, and upon such pollution occurs, the consequences extremely serious, dangerous. The event of radiation accidents, the effects of radiation are often very wide range, number of people exposed, great harm to human health, the impact on the surrounding environment is devastating, long-term, and the resulting social and psychological impact of cannot neglect.North Korea is China's neighbors, and China's border city is only one river (Yalu) separated. The wide distribution of its nuclear power plants, nuclear plants, reactors and other nuclear facilities, are apart from our nearest border just 5 km. Border with North Korea because of North Korea across the river from the very close, which also led our country to be how to deal with nuclear radiation pollution in China.Public understanding of nuclear power is to determine the future prospects of a very important issue. Public understanding of risk strongly influences a country's energy choices. Today, public participation in public decision-making is in the increasing demands, we should strive to provide accurate and easily understood information to improve public knowledge of nuclear and radiation awareness, gain public support to maintain the sustainable development of nuclear power plants. increase awareness Safe operation of nuclear facilities, reduce the incidents of social and psychological effects upon the public. To protect the health, property, safety, and environmental security of the residents of border areas in Jilin Province, to make it the innocent against from nuclear radiation, we should monitor the implementation of radioactive pollution of the border area between China and Korea as early as possible, aware of the situation of nuclear radiation on the residents and master the existing background level, the establishment of the underlying database, for the prevention of sudden emergency event to provide the necessary basic information. In the event of nuclear and radiation emergency event, will be able to quickly determine the scope of pollution, pollution levels, assess the health of residents in the event of the degree of harm, and evaluation of pollution levels to make, that is to provide technical support to decision-making bodies and policy recommendations, residents of border areas to ensure personal and property safety.Through stratified random sampling method, using questionnaires and focus-home survey combined, the survey resided in Jilin Sino-Korean border region more than 12 months of permanent residents, the survey showed:58.8%of residents do not know the radioactive symbol graphics; with 60.4%of residents believe that pregnant women should try to avoid a radioactive check; 49.2%,48.4%,45.5%of residents believe that a person or perspective in the hospital for chest X-ray by the time Radiation exposure, women of childbearing age need to do abdominal perspective on the lower abdomen when the appropriate protection, fluoroscopy adverse effects on human existence; 72%of the residents know that North Korea conducted a nuclear test, while only 24%of respondents correctly answered the DPRK's nuclear Test year; 77.4%of the residents want the DPRK's nuclear test information; were 59.6%,45.6%of respondents considered the environmental impact of nuclear testing and could affect their living environment, but there are 25%of respondents said they did not know; know that Japan's Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings have received had accounted for 63.7%of people think that China has atomic proportion of 72.5%. It can be concluded that:(1) residents of border areas of nuclear and radiation related to a general lack of knowledge, knowledge of nuclear and radiation protection is inadequate. (2) different education, different occupations, different ages and different family income of nuclear and radiation differences in cognition, education, the lower, older age, family income, the lower the population of farmers based on nuclear and radiation Worse cognition. But high school students in the school, the study of knowledge through books and the Internet, television and other media, extensive contacts, knowledge levels than farmers, illiteracy and other people is much higher. (3) age, family income, occupation, and education affect the border area residents the importance of nuclear and radiological impact of cognitive factors; and gender, ethnicity and marital status of residents of small nuclear and radiation cognitive effects.(4), residents of border areas of nuclear radiation on the overall low level of risk perception, need to increase publicity and education efforts.
