Objective: We detect the level of carotid artery intima-media thickness (CIMT), plaque and Fibrinogen( Fg) in Stable Angina Pectoris(SAP)group ,Unstable angina pectoris( UAP) group ,Acute Myocardial Infarction(AMI)group and non CHDgroup, use regression analysis to demonstrate the predictive value of CIMT, plaque and Fg in the diagnosis of Acute Coronary Syndrome. Methods:Research group:we selected patients from ShanXi Cardiovascular Hospital during January to July of 2010. Coronary angiography measurement was performed in 108 persons. 75patients with CHD were divided into AMIgroup.,UAP group, SAP group and 33 normal controls were recruited for this study. CIMT and arteriosclerotic plaques in carotid arteries were evaluated with B—mode ultrasonography in all subjects, blood sample were drawn for the determination of serm values of Fg.Results:There were no significant difference in age, BG and TG of the four groups, the difference in Carotid arteries IMT, atherosclerosis plaque and Fg (P<0.05) .Carotid arteries IMT>0.9mm or atherosclerosis plaque and Fg positively correlated with AMI. OR and its 95%CI is 3.586(1.148~11.202), 4.005(1.242~12.909), 2.851(1.006~8.080), (P<0.05). There was positive correlation between coronary angiography score and carotid atherosclerosis plaque (r=0.194,P<0.05).Conclusions: Carotid arteries IMT>0.9mm or atherosclerosis plaque and Fg positively is independent risk factor of AMI. Coronary artery atherosclerosis extent may predict ACS and reflect directly the occurrence, severity and extent of coronary heart disease.
