Objective using SAS to assess the anxiety of advanced cancer patients and their family members, compare and analysis with the results. To explore the negative emotion of advanced cancerpatients whether to infect the immediate family. Applying SELDI-TOF-MS technology to detectthe serum of all objects and to analysis the coincidence ratio of SELDI and SAS, then evaluatesSELDI clinical significance in the anxiety.Methods124cases of advanced cancer patients and 124cases of their families were respectivelyinvestigated at the same time, and divided into anxious group and non-anxious group accordingto their scores using self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), and to observe the occurrence on negativeemotion of every anxious group, as well as the incidence of negative emotion. Then theSELDI-TOF-MS technology and the CM10 protein chip were used to screen the serum proteinfingerprint related to anxiety. Using Biomarker Wizard3.1,MATLAB7.0.1 and 16.0 SPSSanalysis the differences on the incidence of anxiety of the patients and their family, as well as thedifference on the venting rate of negative emotion in the anxiety state(P>0.05).Results①30 cases of advanced cancer patients and 30 cases of their family members wererespectively investigated by the SAS, the cancer patients'X±S is 57.10±10.668, the familymembers'X±S is 56.97±9.375, and there are no statistically significant differences on theincidence of anxiety among the patient and their family members.45.97%occurred anxiety in the124case patients and 85.96% vented the negative emotion in anxious-related patients.40.32%occurred anxiety in the 124 family members of the patients and 82% vented negative emotion inanxious-related family members. There are no statistically significant differences on theincidence of anxiety among the patient and their family members;and no significant differenceson the venting rate of negative emotion among the anxious patient and their anxious familymembers.②the diagnosis model of 5% protein fingerprint peak at the M/Z values range from 15O00+Hto16800+H could be utilized to analyze protein profiling in screening anxious-related cancerpatient and anxious-related family members. The total coincidence rate is 91.34% in patients; thetotal coincidence rate is 90.32% in their family members. There is obvious correlation betweenthe results of the serum protein fingerprint and the SAS anxiety scale. There is obviouscorrelation among the SAS or SELDI of the patients and their family members, the fitted curveare tending to raise.Conclusions①the negative emotion of advanced cancer patients infected their family members and the surrounding crowd, and resulted in the occurrence of negative emotion about the familymembers, and made the negative emotion have infection.②There is obvious correlation between the results of the SELDI and the SAS anxiety scale.SELDI will avoid the subjectivity and the inaccuracy of scale as a objectivity assessmentmethod.
