This dissertation is composed of three chapters. The first chapter showed the isolation and identification of compounds from seeds of Cassia obtusifolia L. and the a-glucosidase inhibitory activity of different extracts and compounds were introduced. The second chapter studied the antiatheroscloresis and hepatic activities of Desmodium multiflorum DC. The third chapter summarized the study progress of chemical constituent and pharmaceutical of C. obtusifolia L.Chapter 1α-Glucosidase inhibitory compounds from Cassia obtusifolia L.The chemical constituents from seeds of C. obtusifolia L. were studied by column chromatography.6 compounds were isolated and identified as chryso-obtusin (1), obtusifolin (2),8-O-methyl chrysophanol (3), physcion (4), aurantio-obtusin (5),1-O-methyl chrysophanol (6). a-Glucosidase inhibitory activity of different extracts and 6 compounds was assayed. The ethyl acetate extract (IC50=932.8μg·mL-1) and compound 1(IC50=16.21μg·mL-1) have the best inhibitory activity.Chapter 2 Antiatherosloresis and hepatic activities of Desmodium multiflorum DC.The antiatherosloresis and hepatic activites of extracts from D. multiflorum DC. were studied for the first time. The leaves extract and leaves ethyl acetate extract have the best antiatherosloresis and hepatic activities. The active fraction of D. multiflorum is ethyl acetate extract which can be used in liver injure caused by hyperlipermia. The hepatic activity of extracts from D. multiflorum were studied for the first time. The leaves 1-butanol extract can decrease the GPT, GOT and MDA level caused by CCl4 and increase the SOD level, is the active fraction of hepatic activity, can be used in liver injure treatment.Chapter 3 Research process of Cassia Obtusifolia L.This chapter summarized the research process of Cassia Obtusifolia L. in chemical and pharmaceutical area. The major chemical constituents of C. Obtusifolia L. are anthraquinones and naphto-pyrones. The major active ingredients of C. Obutusifolia L. is anthraquinones. C. Obtusifolia L. has hypoglycemic, hypolipidemic, reduce the blood pressure, liver protection and antioxidant activities.
