Objective: Patients with gonadotrophin-stimulating hormone-secreting pituitary adenoma were analyzed on the basis of clinical manifestation, endocrine examination and imaging features, and classified according to gender and age. Most appropriate and reasonable therapeutic methods are then chosen as per these groupings. Methods: Retrospective analysis was done of data involving the clinical presentation, endocrine test, image findings, the report of immunohistochemistry and therapy methods in 71 clinical cases of patients with pituitary tumor and the treatment effects. Results:In this study, the rate of gonadotroph pituitary adenoma in male were about 63.38%, which were , which is comparatively same with the previous observations on the similar field that the majority of the cases occur in middlescent men. The MRI of the most patients were exceed 1.0cm. And most patients of this study were presented clinically with the characters of visual loss and headache. Positive staining for only FSH was found in 44 cases. Serum follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) concentrations were increased in 10 cases, which all were male. And no case was found in high concentration of luteotropic hormone (LH). Low plasma FSH/LH concentration was found in 8 climacteric cases. The primary treatment for gonadotroph adenomas is transsphenoidal surgical adenomectomy, and the prognosis was depend on the serum concentration of FSH before operation. Conclusion:The ratio of gonadotroph pituitary adenoma is low, more common in middlescent men. High plasma FSH/LH concentrations were found occasionally, based mainly on high concentration of FSH. Hyper concentration of FSH was often found in men while hypo FSH/LH in women. The ratio of FSH/LH is esceed 1.0, which could be the diagnosis standard in gonadotroph pituitary adenoma in Post- menopause women. Where as MRI scans presented with basic similarities in all kinds of pituitary adenomas. An accurate diagnostic step and classified method can be taken in the light of the results of immunohistochemistry, endocrine examinations and imaging studies. Attendance after surgical adenomectomy should be strengthened to avoid the complicating disease after surgical adenomectomy.
