Clinical Research On Yi Kang Tang In Treating Insulin Resistance Of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Aim:To explore the clinical effects and mechanism of Yi Kang Tang on insulin resistance(IR) of type 2 diabetes mellitus(NIDDM).Methods:70 cases of insulin resistance of type 2 diabetes mellitus with syndrome of turbid phlegm and blood stasis were divided equally into two groups at random.The patients in the treated group were treated with Yi Kang Tang and the controlled group with Metformin Hydrochloride tablets.The clinical signs and indicators of both groups before and after the treatment were observed,including clinical symptoms,fasting plasma glucose(FPG),HbAlc,fasting insulin(FINS),insulin action index(IAI),insulin resistance index(IRI),and all-around therapeutic effect.Results:Yi Kang Tang can obviously improve the clinical symptoms.The treated group had an obviously better effect on improving clinical symptoms than the controlled group(P<0.01).It can obviously lower fasting plasma glucose,HbA1c and fasting insulin.The therapeutic effect is similar to the controlled group(P>0.05).It can obviously improve IAI.The therapeutic effect is similar to the controlled group(P>0.05).The all-around therapeutic effect of treated group is superior to the controlled group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The effectiveness of Yi Kang Tang is good in treating insulin resistance of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
