Purpose:To analyse and discuss the clinical effect of using little splint and plaster in orthopedic manipulation as external fixation for supracondylar fracture in children.Methods:40 cases of supracondylar fracture patients are divided into two groups:-A and B. Group A (32 cases) as the treatment group, applied manipulation and little splints or plaster fixation; Group B (8 cases) as the control group, being treated with surgical treatment. Observation of patients before and after treatment with the main clinical symptoms, treatment group side lateral elbow x-ray, fracture healing time, elbow carrying angle, fracture sequelae, and complications were compared. Results:All 32 cases of fractures under Group A are healed. According to State Administration of TCM's "Chinese disease diagnosis and efficacy standards", and elbow joint angle range, and carrying angle evaluation. The treatment group has a faster healing time, the elbow joint function recover better, low incidence of cubitus varus, no cases of myositis ossificans occurred, no iatrogenic injury to happen. Compared with the control group were significantly different. Conclusions:Orthopedic manipulation usage of little splints and/or plaster as fixation for supracondylar fracture of humerus in children has a significant effect in reducing dislocation after healing, fracture heals fast, good, elbow joint function and effective prevention of occurrence of cubitus varus, complications and sequelae. Traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of supracondylar fracture, has its special effects and irreplaceable convenience, it is worth to inherit and develop.
