The Utilization Status And Analysis On Radiation Therapy Resources In Suzhou

Objective:To explore the current status and problems of the department of oncology radiotherapy in hospitals in Suzhou and find ways to promote further develop of radiation therapy.Methods:The datas were collected by questionnaire survey from nine hospitals in which there are have external beam equipment. then classificated and analyzed to investigate the educational and training situation of the staff and the configuration of the staff and equipment .Results:The radiotherapy equipment and ancillary equipment were still inadequate, and the configuration was not balanced in the nine hospitals; the average ratio of oncologists and physicists was 4.6:1, the configuration and training of staff was not reasonable.Conclusions:With the development of medicine, radiotherapy facilities are increased and updated,while the lack of professionals has become a bottleneck in the further development of radiation therapy , while it is still difficult to solve in short term,so it should be strengthened the standardized training of radiotherapy physicians, radiation physicists and technicians to adapt to increasing requirements of the cancer patients.
