Objective:To explore the change of neuroglobin (NGB) and the brain isoenzyme of serumcreatine enzyme (CK-BB) serum levels between full-term healthy newborns and newborns withhypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, and to analysis the relevance among the serum NGB, serumCK- BB activity and NBNA score.It can be used for providing objective evidence in earlyclinical diagnosis, evaluating the degree of brain damage in hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathyinjury and exploring the pathogenesis of HIE and early intervention.Method:To select 45 cases with clinical diagnosis of HIE as the HIE group in Shanxi Children'sHospital neonatal hospitalization from September 2009 to May 2010. 15 neonates whohospitalized over the same period were the control group, respectively, after birth 14 days 24hours and the serum collected.1. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay, ELISA)detection of NGB levels in serum and enzyme activity in serum creatine brain isoenzyme(CK-BB).2. By a specially trained physician to its line of newborn NBNA score.3. NGB levels in serum, serum CK-BB activity and do NBNA score correlation.Results1. HIE group and severe group of patients in the acute phase serum levels were significantlyhigher than the recovery NGB and the control group (P <0.01); mild and severe HIE group thanHIE (P <0.01), There is no significant difference between mild HIE group and control groups(P> 0.05); HIE group of acute phase serum CK-BB levels were significantly higher than therecovery period and the control group (P <0.01).2.HIE group of moderate to severe acute phase serum NGB level and CK-BB levels weresignificantly higher than the recovery period and the control group (P <0.01), two indicators ofrecovery than the acute phase of decline, but still higher than the control group (P <0.01).3.HIE NGB level and serum creatine kinase brain isoenzyme activity was negativelycorrelated with NBNA score (p <0.01)Conclution:NGB values of serum, CK-BB activity and NBNA score, there are changes in the pathogenesis of HIE, NGB level and serum creatine kinase brain isoenzyme activity wasnegatively correlated with NBNA score.Serum of CK-BB and NGB level and activity of HIE canbe used as early evaluation of brain injury and brain injury recovery.
