Abstract/Summary:
Objective:To analyze the relationship between the expression of FAF1 in gastric cancer and its clinical parameters, through testing the expression of FAF1 protein in human gastric carcinoma tissues, adjacent cancer tissues and normal gastric tissues, and to explore the relationship between the prognosis of patients with gastric carcinoma and the expression of FAF1 protein in human gastric carcinoma, the relation to clinicopathology and prognosis. Methods:Collected 163 cases of patients with gastric cancer resected in our hospital. Immunohistochemistry were used to detect the expression of FAF1 in 163 cases of cancerous tissues,68 cases of paracancerous tissues and 75 cases of normal tissues. For the statistical analyses, x2 test is used for description of data, The Kaplan-Meier method was applied to analyze survival rates, Log-rank test was applied in the univariate analysis, and multivariate COX analysis was applied to perform the independent prognostic factors of the patients who underwent gastrectomy.Results:1 The positive expression rates of FAF1 in the cancerous tissues were strikingly lower than that in the paracancerous tissues and normal tissues (P< 0.001).2 There were not significant differences between patient's sex, age, tumor size, location and distant metastasis in the expression levels of FAF1 protein (P>0.05), while there were differences between Borrmann, cell differentiation, nor infiltration depth, regional lymph node metastasis and pTNM stage (P<0.05).3 The risk factors influencing prognosis of these patients w distant ith gastric carcinoma were the expression levels of FAF1 protein, tumor location, size, Borrmann type, histological type, Infiltration depth, lymph node metastasis, metastasis, and TNM staging. Through multivariate analyses, the factors influencing prognosis of these patients with gastric carcinoma were tumor location, distant metastasis, TNM staging. Conclusion:There were relationship between the expression of FAF1 and the gastric biology behavior, FAF1 is closely related to the occurrence, development and metastasis of gastric carcinoma, but it can not be as an independent prognosis. The independent risk factors influencing prognosis of these patients with gastric carcinoma were tumor location, distant metastasis, TNM staging.
