Objective:To study the corneal topography changes of MSICS+IOL cataract surgery and analysis on TCM syndrome of cataract.Methods:89 cataract suffers were recruited in ophthalmology inpatient department of Teaching hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Length of surgical incision was decided by the hardness of nuclear cataract.5.5mm incision was applied on sclera by MSICS+IOL surgery for the hardness of IV grade (A group). 6.5mm incision was applied on sclera by MSICS+IOL surgery for the hardness of V grade (B group). The corneal topography was observed before and 1-week,1-month after surgery. The outcome assessments were eye visual acuity, corneal curvature (ACP), corneal surface astigmatism value (CYL), corneal surface asymmetry index (SAI) and corneal surface regularity index (SRI). And the TCM syndrome of cataract was also analyzed. All the data was analyzed by SPSS 13.0 softwareResults:1.Visual acuity, ACP, CYL, SAI, SRI were significantly increased in both groups, compared with that before (P<0.05).2.There was no significant difference between two groups in visual acuity 1 week,1 month after surgery (t=0.21,0.16; P<0.05).3. There were significant differences between two groups in CYL,ACP 1 week, 1 month after surgery (P<0.05), and the CYL,ACP was higher in B group.4. the SAI was higher in B group 1 month after surgery, and no significant difference was detected between groups in 1 month after surgery. There was no significant difference between two groups in SRI 1 week,1 month after surgery.5. The analysis of TCM syndromes indicated:the majority syndrome of TCM was liver and kidney insufficiency, and There was no significant difference between two groups in TCM syndrome (P> 0.05).Conclusion:1. Incision length of 5.5mm on sclera in MSICS+IOL surgery have superiority in influence to corneal astigmatism over the length of 6.5mm in the early postoperative stage.2. two kinds of incision length have little influence to corneal regularity in the early postoperative stage.3. the corneal topography can make quantitive analysis on the change of corneal shape and contribute to accurate judgments on astigmatism improvement, which has great significance to significance study.4. The majority syndrome of TCM inⅣ~Ⅴgrade of cataract was liver and kidney insufficiency.
