Abstract1 ObjectiveTo investigate the health condition of residents (including preschool children) in a rural area of Zhejiang Province, and propose some suggestions for improving the health condition of rural residents.2 Subjects and Methods2.1 SubjectsThe residents and preschool children who are living in three villages and have participated in the new cooperative medical care.2.2 Collection of the information2.2.1 The information about the health condition of rural residents:The health files of residents who have taken part in the new cooperative medical care system in three villages were established from July to September in 2008. The examined items included the internal medicine, regular examination of surgery, measuring blood pressure, blut-routine-untersuchung, Harn-Routine-untersuchung, abdomen type-B ultrasonic, electrocardiogram. Two extra items—gynaecology and leucorrhea convention were performed for women. Those who are found abnormal need to do The further examinations in higher level hospitals should be conducted for the residents with abnormal conditions, for example, CT, blood sugar, blood fat and chest films.2.2.2 The information about the health condition of preschool children:The data were from the health examination of preschool children in three villages during 2006-2009..3 Results3.1 The general health condition. There were 1886 rural residents (38.95%) with unhealthy conditions in 3 villages. The diseases with the higher morbidities are the high blood pressure (49.53%) and diseases of digestive system. The morbidity of high blood pressure increased with age (P<0.01). There was no significant difference of high blood pressure morbidity between males and females. The morbidity of fatty liver in 50 years old group was significantly higher than that in other years old groups(P<0.01),but There was no significant difference of fatty liver morbidity between males and females. The morbidities of gallbladder diseases increased with age,3.2 The health condition of women. Among the examined 1808 women,446 suffer from the gynecological diseases in varying degrees. The morbidity of gynecological diseases in the>30 years old groups was significantly higher than that in 20 years old group (P<0.01).The morbidity of gynecological diseases was 25.66%. The disease with the highest morbidity in 5 gynecological diseases is vaginitis.3.3 The health condition of preschool children. The growth and development of children were improved during 2006-2009. The morbidities of innutrition and rhachitis were from 7.71%,9.02% in 2006 to 5.07%,4.02% in 2009, there was significant difference(P<0.01). The morbidity of obese children was from 2.04% in 2006 to 7.21% in 2009 (P<0.01). The morbidity of obese children living in groups was significantly higher than in children living scattered group (.P<0.01). The morbidity of anemia in younger age group was significantly higher than that in old age group (P<0.01).4 Suggestions4.1 To promote healthy eating habits and lifestyle, raise awareness of the rural population of self-care.4.2 To improve the knowledge levels of woman reproductive health, give targeted guidance to the women of different ages.4.3 To regulate the management of children care, promote to give a rational nutrition to control the increasing of the morbidity of anemia and obese children.4.4 To strengthen public health care, establish the system of monitoring diseases and control diseases, prevent diseases.5 Innovations To carry out the investigations of general health status of rural residents, reproductive health status of married women, health status of preschool children in a rural area, and to propose some suggestions about how to improve the health status of populations in rural areas.
