Objective:In this article,we evaluated the self-management behaviors of patients with endometriosis after surgery and analyzed the related factors of the behaviors as well.Methods:A descripitive and correlative design was used.120 cases of patients with endometriosis after surgery were recruited into this study. Self-management Behaviors Measuring Scale, General Questionnaire and Beck Depression Inventory were used to measure the self-management behaviors and the related factors of the self-management behaviors.The data were analyzed with the computer program SPSS vesion 13 by means of percentage,ANOVA,Chi-square test,Kruskal Wallis and pearson correlation analysis.Results:Patients with endometriosis represented a moderate or lower level of self-management.The total score of self-management behaviors of patients with endometriosis was 53.02±10.56. The score of symptom management, emotional management, life management, and information management were 18.11±3.10, 12.43±3.06,9.72±2.07 and 12.73±3.70 separately. The majority of patients with endometriosis (73.33%) exhibited a mild or higher degree of depression. Pearson correlation analysis showed that the behaviors self-management and the depression scores were negatively correlated (P<0.001). The education level and the behaviors self-management were positively correlated (P<0.001).Conclusion:Patients with endometriosis represented a moderate or lower level of self-management. The education level and depression were correlated significantly with the self-management behaviors of patients with endometriosis.
