| Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Wen Yang HuaYin Fang in treating the chronic congestive heart failure (CHF) and explore its mechanism of its effect. Methods: According to the standards included in the case,60 cases of patients were divided randomly into two groups equally:treating group and control group. The control group with 30 cases were dosed with routine western medicine, and the treating group with 30 cases were dosed with Wen Yang HuaYin Fang on the basic treat of routine western medicine, and determined the curative effect after four weeks. Do the laboratory examination of ECG, blood routine, urinalysis, routine stool, electrolyte, liver and renal function before and after treatment, and observed The changes of cardiac function classification (NYHA), clinical symptoms or signs, ejection fraction (EF), stroke volume (SV) and plasma N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) before and after treatment to determine the efficacy and security. Results:After 4 weeks'treatment, the clinical study showed that the treatment group was better than the control group in cardiac function, Lee's failure points, total effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) syndromes (P<0.05), so as the cold extremities, cough, fatigue, Irritability, abdominal distention and Lips cyanosis of symptoms of TCM (P<0.05), and the same with EF and SV (P<0.05), as well as the reduced degree of NT-proBNP (P<0.05). Conclusion:WenYang HuaYin Fang can ameliorate clinical symptoms, cardiac function, EF, SV and NT-proBNP in the treatment of syndrome of water overflowing due to yang deficiency of CHF.
