Objective:To investigate the methods of cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) and the relationship between the treatment result and the correlation influencing factors. Methods:According to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria,50patients(36 males and 14 females)with cervical spondylotic myelopathy who underwent operative treatment between April 2007 and October 2009 in Affilated Hospital of Shan dong University of Triditional Chinese Medicine were included in this study. They were conducted a questionnaire survey, physical examination and radiography, and followed up by telephone or letters after postoperative. According to Japanese Orthopedics Association 17 scores method for the cervical spondylotic myelopathy and the functional grading system of Nurick,The preoperative, the last follow-up neurological function of all patients was evaluated respectively.Statistical analytical methods(independent sampler T test,One-Way ANOVA,Logistic regression analysis)were performed to study the relation between factors and the surgical outcome of cervical spondylotic myelopathy.Result:The the last follow-up JOA score and Nurick score improved significantly, and the differences were significant (P<0.01).The mean JOA score before surgery was 9.72±3.66 points, and the mean preoperative Nurick score was 2.7±1.25.The mean postoperative JOA score was 14.4±2.38 points, and the mean postoperative Nurick score was 1.04±1.14.The JOA recovery rate among the total patients was classified as exellent in 20,good in 25,fair in 3,poor in 2.Disease course (P<0.01),with the preoperative injury (P<0.05),with a change on images of MRI (P<0.05) are the factors impacting operative results.lt can be observed that there are relation between the excellent good rate of the JOA sore and disease course(P<0.01),with a change on images of MRI (P<0.05) in the logistic regression. Conclusion:With the disease course, preoperative injury and a change on images of MRI,the operative result of the patients is worse. To improve the operative result, all the influencing factors should been taken into consideration.
