Objective:The aim of this present study is to investigate the expressions of telomerase hTERT and p27 proteins in endometrial carcinoma and normal endometrium tissues in proliferative phase and study the relationship between them and their relationships with clinicopathlogical features so as to address the roles of these two proteins in the development of this malignant tumor.Method:expression of telomerase hTERT and p27 in 43cases of endometrial adenocarcinoma and 15 proliferative normal endometrium, diagnosed by the affiliated the hospital of taishan medical university and the central hospital in tan'an city during dec,2002 and dec,2006,were detected immunohistochemically. In these cases,43 cases of endometrial adenocarcinoma includes:20 G1,23 G2-G3 by differentiation;30 non-obvious infiltration and shallow infiltration and 13 deep infiltration by infiltration; 24 stage 1,19 stageâ…¡-â…£by FIGO staging. Statistical analysis was performed with SAS 6.12 software, using Chi-square and Spearman test. Statistically significant level was considered as "alpha equals 0.05".Results:1.The expression of hTERT is mostly located in the cell nucleus or cell plasma. The expression of p27 is mostly located in the cell nucleus, partly the expression is in the cell plasma.2.The positive expression rate of hTERT in endometrial carcinoma was 86.05% and that was significantly higher than 40.00% in proliferative phase of endometrium(P<0.05).The expression of hTERT in endometrial carcinoma is no related with the age, histological grade, FIGO staging, the deepening of muscular layer infiltration and lymphnode metastasis(P<0.05).3.The positive expression rate of p27 in endometrial carcinoma was 44.19% and that was significantly lower than 93.33% in proliferative phase of endometrium(P<0.05). The expression of p27 in endometrial carcinoma is related with the histological grade, FIGO staging and the deepening of muscular layer infiltration and lymphnode metastasis(P<0.05),but the expression is no related with the age and lymphnode metastasis(P>0.05).4.The expression of hTERT was negatively correlated with p27 in endometrial adenocarcinoma(rs=-0,317,P=0.0381<0.05).Conclusion:1.The overexpression of hTERT and reduced expression of p27 might accelerate the progress of the cell cycle and promote the carcinogenesis and proliferation of endometrial carcinoma.2.The expression of hTERT in endometrial carcinoma is no related with the histological grade, FIGO staging, the deepening of muscular layer infiltration and lymphnode metastasis.3.Following the accrescence of FIGO staging, the decrease of histological grade and the deepening of muscular layer infiltration, the expression of p27 shows a decreased trend(P<0.05).p27 is closely related to the degree of malignancy and prognosis of endometrial adenocarcinoma.4.The association detection of hTERT and p27 has an important effect in diagnosing early endometrial carcinoma, definiting degree of malignency and forecasting prognosis.
