Questionnaire survey of the graduates who participated in the"Training doctors for township hospital in Fujian province"4. In-depth interview was adopted to explore the graduates'career aspirations.ResultsTo a certain extent, Preventive professionals in township hospital were not paid much attention to in 2009, and their manpower quality score is less than that of the medical professionals. In contrast, the aging trend of preventive professionals is severer than the latter one, therefore, the function of the township hospital which oriented by public health hasn't well performed. Financial reimbursement is still the priority when graduates think about the jobs and social status was also highly valued, but self-realization isn't thought much of.The graduates go to grass roots is still in a passive stage. The subject of Chinese medicine/nursing, did not finish CET-4(College English Test Bank-4), family dwelling in rural, high cognitive degree of rural health resource is good for graduate to go to rural areas, however, expected salary(1000~1999,2000~2999), social status, personal sentiment satisfaction and social environment are barrier factors. At present, the group most likely to serve in township hospitals are junior college graduates with a rural background, low salary expectation, low English level and who are familiar with township hospital.Suggestions:Keep perfecting the training model of"Order form"which is running at present in Fujian province, increase favorable policy, recruit medical students from rural areas based on local need, conduct rural oriented education in rural medical schools by commission, at the same time, set up general medicine curriculum and equip with rural health teachers, direct medical students to establish right employment outlook, select county hospitals and township hospitals as training units. Furthermore, continue surveillance of the quality of the training process, finally, provide more competent health staff for township hospitals. |
