Study On Anti-Cervical Cancer Activity Of Humifuse Euphorbia Herb

Cervical cancer which had become one of the most common human cancer appeared in the whole world. Cervical cancer not only occupied the top percent of female reproduction organ cancers, but also was the most common cancer of all female malignant tumor, which brought huge harms to women. Surgery treatment and radiation therapy were used to cure cancer, but they always came with lots of side effects which were hard to be cured. Herbs therapy in cancer had been noticed a lot.Humifuse Euphorbia Herb belongs to euphorbiaceae, one year life grovel hebelet, white lac feminium, growing in the field or side of the road. It dispersed widely in our country, has plentiful resources, it also was called Euphorbia humifuse,Teucrium viscidum blume. It has obvious effect to use Euphorbia humifuse curing chronic hepatitis and acute hepatitis. It is used for curing bacillary dysentery and diarrhea on medical clinic. Injection is used to treat chronic bronchitis and acute bronchitis. In the veterinary clinic, Lin Jiayi and others treat swine gastroenteritis with Euphorbia humifuse getting a significant effect; Xue Zhicheng(2003) cured Pullorum using Euphorbia humifuse compound, the effective rate was 92%. But the activity of humifusae on anti-cervical cancer has not been reported.This study using cervical cancer-bearing mice models investigate the anti-cervical activity of Euphorbia humifusa which is extracted by decoction .Get the following results:1.Establish U14 cervical cancer model and treat tumor-bearing mice with different concentrations of Humifusae , inhibition rates were 44.7%,66.7%,and significantly increased the index of immune organs.2.Do antioxidant capacity test, compared with negative control group treatment group significantly increase SOD,CAT and T-AOC activity.That Reveales humifusae can improve antioxidant capacity.3.Do immunohistochemistry test on mice tumor tissues, the results show that Euphorbia humifusa significantly reduced the expression of mutant p53, regulated p19ARF protein. The expression of Caspase-3 and Capase-9 were not significantly affected.That Reveales humifusae can control the expression of specific proteins associated with cancer, to induce apoptosis, but maybe not through the mitochondrial pathway. 4. Treat Hela cells with different concentration of Euphorbia humufusa, inhibition rate was 71.5%, 72.6%, 80.9% through MTT test. That Reveales humifusae inhibit the proliferation of Hela cells.5.Do Hoechst staining on the Hela cells which was treated by Humifusae , compared with negative group Humifusae treated cells showed more apoptotic morphological changes, revealed Humifusae can induce apoptosis in Hela cells.
