Rotary rehabilitation torso is aimed at increasingly serious waist health problems raised by the hard work and life in the modern days. Waist carries most upper body weight, about more than 60% of the human body weight during the two thirds of the day time, except when body is sleep. All sorts of lumbar diseases have been clinically one of the most common pain disease, whose morbidity is only less than cold's. The number of the people, who has waist diseases such as lumbar intervertebral disc and lumbar muscle strain, grew rapidly. The rehabilitation training on waist diseases thorough cure becomes important. Therefore, this paper designs a rotary rehabilitation torso, which can reinforce oblique muscle strength through professional training, guarantees the scientific and rapid recovery from waist disease.Based on the analysis of waist disease treatment methods, this paper analyzes the existing waist training products and researches various waists movement theories. Finally, the paper designs a rotary rehabilitation torso, which aims at specialized training the internal and external oblique muscle. It is applicable to normal and lumbar disease patients.Rotary rehabilitation torso is about human health directly, so the deep research of ergonomics is the most important. Ergonomics is a subject researches the human anatomy,human physiology and the interaction of human,machine and environment. It studies how to consider people's health,safety,comfort and work efficiency in family and work life. This paper analyzes various ergonomics factors. At first, it studies the lumbar physiology, the structure and function of the waist, considers reasons of waist diseases and analyzes the waist biomechanics. This provides the rehabilitation torso design the medical and physiology supports. Secondly, it studies the application of human surveying in person-machine-environment system and the design requirement in man-machine-environment system. Combined with the waist physiological requirements and rehabilitation training medicine, the paper designs the structure and the size of the cushion, seat, shoulder pads and gabled frames. Finally, this paper uses the system method to design the form of rotary rehabilitation torso. After the sketching scheme, it chooses the perfect design proposal, establishes the computer model in RHINO.After the design, this paper calculates the muscle strength of internal and external oblique muscle, which is an evaluation on the biomechanics. In addition, in the software of CATIA, the paper analyzes and evaluates the riding comfort of human body posture and work space in waist twisting motion. It ensures the rationality of man-machine-environment system design.
