A Research On The Current Situation Of Meaning In Life And Quality Of Life In Detoxification Addicts

With the enforcement of China's first Law on Drugs Control, drugs control, detoxification treatment and healing have been drawn more and more attention, and many detoxification centers and researchers pay attention to detoxification addicts' psychological condition.Objective:The research is through quantitative research, to discusse the differencces in detoxification addict's meaning in life, the current status of existence quality, some demography variable and correative varible in freak-out, and according to the inforamtion of depth interview, dealing with the information in qualitative analysis to know what the the thoughts and opinions the detoxification addicts have to their own life.Method:It questionnaires 400 detoxification addicts in Xinkaipu reeducation unit by The Life Attitude Profile and The Quality of Life Scale for Drug Addicts, And 22 detoxification addicts from whom were questionnaired accepted depth interview. The research is through the method of questionaire investigation by using factor analysis, variance analysis, corrlation analysis and regression analysis and qualitative analysis etc. to deal with the dates. Combined with the quantitative and qualitative reseach of the detoxification addicts'meaning in life, we can get more valuable findings.The conclusions drawn in this research are as follows:First, the degree of detoxification addicts'meaning in life is not high on the whole. Their will to meaning, existential vacuum, life purpose, death acceptance and the total amount of scale are significantly lower than the general population.Second, every dimension of meaning in life has significa-nt difference on age, education level and other demographic variables; it has significant difference on years of drug abuse, the times of voluntary and inforced drug treatment and the time of education through labor etc.Third, the degree of detoxification addicts'quality of life is not high on the whole. Every dimension of quality of life has significant difference on age, marital status and other demographic variables;it has significant difference on years of drug abuse and the times of voluntary and inforced drug treatment etc..Fourth, there is significant correlation between meaning in life and quality of life. In the correlation analysis, the first typical factor reachs a statistically significant level, namely, the canonical correlativity of X varibale and Y varibale is the result of existential vacuum, life purpose, life control and will to meaning in X variable through the first typical infactor(χ1) influenceing the the first canonical factor (η1) in Y variables.Fifth, in the regression analysis of quality of life to meaning in life, existential vacuum and will to meaning in meaning in life could significantly and positively predict quality of life.
