ObjectiveObserve the curative effect of moxibustion to treat myotonicmyopathies of by random control test.Methods60 cases which met the diagnostic criteria of PD in the cerebral disease center visit of the second affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine were included in this study. They are divided into two groups namely treatment group and control group,34 cases in the first group, while 26 cases in the second group. Both groups used medicine in treating PD according to the history of taking medicine. The treatment group was treated with moxibustion binding common acupuncture and abdomen acupuncture, acupoint selection:1. Moxibustion:1). Zhongwan(RN12),Qihai(RN6),Guanyuan(RN4),Xuanzhong(GB39) both; 2). Danshu(BL19) both,Geshu (BL17) both,Dazhui (GV14),Mingmen (GV4).2. Common acupuncture:Baihui (GV 20),Yitang,Hegu(LI4) both,Taichong(LR3) both; 3).Abdomen acupuncture:Entraining Guiyuan (Zhongwan(RN12),Xiawan(RN10),Qihai(RN6),Guanyuan(RN4)); while the control group was treated merely with common acupuncture binding abdomen acupuncture, which acupoint selection and operation was the same as the treatment group. Both group use alternatively.Three times as a week, ten times as a course of the treatment, including two courses。The assessment included the UPDRS 3.0 and dysfunction record of Chinese Medicine, which included motor function and myotonicmyopathies score before and after the treatment. Statistical software SPSS13.0 was used in analysing the data.ResultsBefore treatment, there was no statistical discrepancy between the two group in gender, age, cardinal symptom, distribution of syndrome (P>0.05). While there was statistical discrepancy between the two group in course of UPDRS3.0 score and the dysfunction record of Chinese Medicine before the treatment (P<0.05), possibly related to not enough stichprobenumfang in the search. After the treatment, however, testing the UPDRS score, the dysfunction record of Chinese Medicine, motor function and myotonicmyopathies, the two groups had statistical difference (P<0.05).Therein, it has significant difference in the score of UPDRS3.0,the dysfunction record of Chinese Medicine and motor function (P<0.01); The treatment group was much better than the control group in the UPDRS score, the dysfunction record of Chinese Medicine and motor function score (P<0.01).While it has no statistical discrepancy between the two group in myotonicmyopathies, which may attribute to not enough stichprobenumfang in the search.ConclusionsThe acupuncture therapy was effective to the Parkinson's disease. The curative effect of moxibustion was effective to improve myotonicmyopathies and motor function of the Parkinson's disease.
