Background:Primary liver cancer, "Cancer World", is a serious threat to people's health, with onset hidden, long-latency, highly malignant, rapidly growing, invasive ability, and easy to recurrence of tumor after treatment, the characteristics of higher mortality makes its clinical treatment difficult. Currently the treatments of primary liver cancer have many reports, including the currently accepted and effective surgery, chemotherapy infusion, chemoembolization, Chinese medicine treatment. We use the evidence-based medicine approach to evaluate the above four treatment methods in the treatment of primary liver cancer, and make Meta analysis for the survival in patients with primary liver cancer, in order to provide adequate scientific basis for clinical. Objective:Surgery, chemotherapy infusion, chemoembolization, traditional Chinese medicine is widely recognized as an effective method of treatment of primary liver cancer. They can extend survival in patients with primary liver cancer. We make a systematic evaluation and analysis for the above four treatment, in order to get a more general conclusion for the treatment of primary liver cancer. This can provide a more adequate scientific basis for the Clinicians to choose the best method of treatment of primary liver cancer. It can guide the work of clinical research and practice.Method:We search Chinese Biomedical Database (CBM), Chinese Science and Technology Academic Journal (VIP journal database), China Journal Net (CNKI), WanFang Database, and use the literature published in domestic and international. We chose the standard randomized controlled clinical trial (RCT) or non-randomized concurrent control study (NRCT). These studys on the four treatments, including surgery, chemotherapy infusion, chemoembolization, Chinese medicine, affect the survival rate of patients with primary liver cancer. We extract data from the literature and make Meta analysis, in order to draw conclusions. Results:Compared intervention or interventional and surgery with surgery alone, we found significant differences for the 1,2,3-year survival periods of the patients with primary liver cancer. The intervention or interventional and surgery can further improve the survival rate of patients than the surgery alone. Compared the chemotherapy infusion and the chemoembolization, we found significant differences for the 1,2,3-year survival periods of the patients with primary liver cancer. The chemoembolization can further improve the survival rate of patients than the chemotherapy infusion. Compared the integrative medicine and the western medicine alone, we found significant differences for the 1,2,3-year survival periods of the patients. The integrative medicine can further improve the survival rate of patients than the western medicine alone. Conclusion:For the extension of life of the patients with advanced primary liver cancer, we concluded that the intervention or interventional and surgery is better than the surgery alone, the chemoembolization is better than the chemotherapy infusion of intervention methods, and Chinese medicine is better than chemotherapy drugs for low toxic side effects so that we choose Chinese medicine in the intervention, the integrative medicine is better than the western medicine alone. Therefore, the main approach of Chinese medicine chemoembolization combined with traditional Chinese methods to treat primary liver cancer patients the best.
